I'm 24, and have been struggling with my weight for a long time. I am not sure what diet will work for me the best and I was hoping that some of you could maybe give me some insight and suggestions. I am open to try anything at this point. The problem that I REALLY have more than anything else is that I eat when all the time. I guess its what you would call an emotional eater, and I'm not sure how to change things. If anyone has any suggestions for a diet that is really working for them I would love to hear it. At this point, I will try almost anything

Odd advice... whenever you feel like snacking, pop in your favorite flavor of bubblegum! It keeps your mouth occupied, as well as it tastes great! can also try brushing your teeth before you snack. Maybe it's just me, but after I'm done brushing you feel so clean (damn... sounds like i NEVER brush lol) that I don't want anything to munch on.
If you're more of an oral-fixation person... try drinking out of a straw - also helps distract yourself.

I too chew gum when I am hungry and have already eaten. When the flavor is gone and I still need it, I get a new piece. Make sure it is sugar-free gum though. That is only 5 calories. It seams to help. Also, don't keep food in your house you don't want to eat or are drawn to eating when emotional such as ice-cream or for me dorritoes. Apples also help. They make you feel full whith out too many calories or sugars.

I chew gum while i am bagging at my work so i don't get hungry but i talk this pill called phentermine. It help me lose about 33 lbs since Dec of 08 , the first month that i started i have lose about 10 lbs since then but now that started to go down on how much weight i lose.

Chewing gum is a great idea! I also try to drink a lot of water throughout the day because sometimes I find I eat when I am actually thirsty? I just joined a challenge where you drink 1 glass of water before each meal, and it is supposed to help you get fuller faster.

I understand the way you are feeling.. overwhelmed and not sure how to change your habits. Don't get discouraged, its such a great thing you recognized your bad habits and want to change. That is the first step!! YOU CAN DO IT! Smile
