Vegan, Soy Free, Mostly Gluten and Sugar Free Diet

This is a vegan diet suited for people with allergies. It can be a weight loss diet, or it can be used to maintain current weight. If you are going from eating meat and dairy to eating a vegan diet, it is almost a guarantee that you will lose weight. Not included in all of the foods listed, but it should be assumed that all foods are organic. Eating organic is important for your health because you do not want genetically modified foods or chemicals and when you eat conventional foods, you are likely eating them. People often think it's very expensive to eat organic and vegan, but there are bulk foods that lower costs and many standard grocery stores now carry their own line of organic products. Also, consider purchasing dry foods online as this can save you a lot of money.

How To Follow Vegan, Soy Free, Mostly Gluten and Sugar Free Diet:

Read labels, read labels, read labels. If you go out to eat, be the snobby patron who asks a million questions about the menu. Find out what you are actually consuming. You will be amazed at how many places they sneak soy, dairy, and wheat into your food! I reccommend searching for veg restaurants or shopping at your local co-op or Whole Foods.

PhoenixGlass's top tips

1.Sprouting your beans at home reduces calories and boosts nutrients/ health benefits.
2.Kombucha is a great alternative to soda and juice. It has amazing health benefits and is very low sugar/ low calorie.
3.Watch out for natural fats in avocados, nuts, and oil & vinegar salad dressing. Even healthy fats add up fast and become a block to weight loss. But some healthy fat is good!
4.When you cut meat and dairy out of your diet, you reduce your cholesterol and risk for heart disease, you detox your body from the chemicals and hormones found in meat/dairy, and you increase your energy level and overall health.
5.If you get the afternoon slump where you feel like you just have to take a nap, try cutting out gluten. Also, eat a low carb lunch, like a salad or lentils and veggies.
6.Don't ever skip breakfast! Breakfast TRULY is the most important meal of the day. Without breakfast, you are more likely to eat sugar or overeat later in the day. Just do it!

About / History

I have been vegetarian since I was 14 and recently took it to the next level by going full vegan. I did this specifically because I love animals and believe they shouldn't have to suffer for my meal or clothing. Read John Robbins "Food Revolution" or "Diet for a New America" for detailed info on how a vegan diet is the best thing for your health and what goes on behind the scenes of the meat and dairy industries.
