Basic low calorie 1500 per day, with emphasis on lower fat, using only whole grain,brown rice,whole wheat bread and whole wheat pasta as possible. Use fresh or frozen fruits and vegetables.

Basically count your calories and fat grams using this web site. 3500 calories equals a pound. To lose a pound you need to take in 3500 calories less than you use in a day. Use the fat secret web site to figure your amounts. Read food labels carefully.

I have been on several diets for years and the best one is one you can stay on forever. This is what I put together after a lot of research. It is basically count your calories, watch your portions and try to get more exercise.

trimelda's top tips

1.Count all your calories at Fat Secret.
2.Try to eat plenty of vegetables and fruits. Eat whole wheat pastas and bread when you have them. Eat lean meats/ skinless chicken.
3.Avoid all fried foods, added oil and fats except for very small amounts of olive oil.
4.Read food labels.
5.Pre plan eating out if possible. Many restaurants have web sites with nutritional information.
