Paula50's own diet

My cholesterol is high, I have to avoid sodium, and I need to lose weight. I have designed my own diet to start regulating the first two needs first and then will begin to watch calories. It is taking a while to get results, but I am making life changes here that are pretty drastic for me, so I am taking one at a time. Exercise is the next hurdle I will make.

About / History

I have tried a Christian weight loss program and lost a lot of weight. I did not eat a balanced diet. It was only about cutting portions, which is a good idea, but the diet should follow the food pyramid and include an increase in exercise. That is the only way to keep it off and stay healthy.

Paula50's top tips

1.Do research and find out what is an ideal weight for your height.
2.Exercise 3 days a week for 10 - 20- 30 min. Increase gradually.
3.If you have a food you really love, do not create cravings, allow yourself a small portion every once in a while.
4.Choose low fat or no fat yogurt and milk. Avoid fatty cheeses.
5.It is fun to eat/exercise with a friend. Build up a support system.
