It's an oldie but a goodie but let's throw in a twist. If "always take the stairs" is too much, get off the elevator a floor below your destination and walk up one flight, then two floors next week, etc. Get some weightlifting in by parking the grocery cart at the door and hauling all your bags to the car by hand.
