I've started the C25K plan a dozen times but never seen it through to the end, but this time I'm determined to do it for my running buddy.
Evidently, I'm not the only one struggling with their weight in this house. According to our vet my four year old Husky/Retriever mix needs to lose 8 pounds in order to lower her risk of hip dysplasia. I need to lose at least thirty before I end up like my dad with type 2 diabetes and diverticulitis.
So I made the executive decision that Hyperbole and I were going to do this together.
We took our first run this morning and man was it killer. I had no idea my calves were so tight. By the last run it was agonizing. The iphone app definitely helped a lot I was less obsessed with staring at my watching and could focus more on my breathing and my running form.
Hopefully we'll be able to turn this into a habit that can get us both healthy.

your post makes me happy! I work in the vet field and I can't tell you how often I see obese dogs suffering from diabetes and joint problems! I'm glad your taking the advice of your vet and helping Hyperbole! I wish you two good luck!! I also hope you succeed this time!! There's no time like the present to change the things that make you unhappy! Smile
