Drinking large quantities of water quickly is not healthy or safe but 8 to 10 glasses spread over a day is usually OK. I think of it more as 2 litres of fluid per day ( so it is 4 500ml bottles of water), so you could replace a cup of coffee with a glass of water or fruit/herbal tea and your body will be more hydrated. Do what you feel is safe for you :0)
