BG - 91 Woohoo!!!

I'm so behind! I just got up past 7 this morning, weighed, checked my BG, drank my water and was checking my messages when my mom called and invited me to coffee. So I just got back maybe 20 minutes ago and finally got my breakfast and took my meds. I have some serious cleaning I have to get done and laundry to do and on it goes lol. I'll try to get to everything as I can. Since fibro hit me it's like I'm always in slow motion... sigh.. BUT things are really good. I just love and appreciate everyone on this site! I have to admit, I've never felt more encouraged, supported or more at home than I do here. YOU ROCK!!!:D

ruby, I am glad that you were able to get out and enjoy coffee with your mom. I have learned something very important through the years. The house work, the laundry, the lawn, and every other non-essential chore will still be there tomorrow, but we may not be. So enjoy the small things while you ahve the chance. Chores will wait, and if you aren't able to do them later, someone will! lol Have a great Sunday! PS. what is BG? Sorry to be nosy, but just curious, as you seem so excited about it.

Oh hi! THX for the comment. BG is Blood Glucose. I get my readings from my Bg meter. I do hate that it hurts when I prick my finger though. And you're right. Having coffee with my mom who is 81 and also diabetic II, well, is the best. She's the only family I have nearby and we're not gettin any younger. She's lost a couple of toes though and we're worried about her foot. It is looking better though:)

Wow, that is a shame about your mom's foot. I will include her in my prayers, and good for you on getting your BG under control. Atkins is truly a great diet for controlling BG. My dad is 82, and has always taken such good care of himself. He has followed a low fat, heart healthy diet for the last 30+ years and has never been overweight; as a matter of fact he prides himself on the fact that he is the same size now as when he was in the Air Force. He now has type II diabetes, heart problems, and recently had to have disc repair surgery and then had a sroke. Funny thing is, NOW the doctors want him to follow a low carb diet for his heart and diabetes.

I agree with ctlss, housework can wait, its always there. I actually really like busy days...less time to think about dieting and food..lol. After a busy day I feel like I accomplished something and it feels good. I am hoping for you that as your weight goes down you will resolve some health issues..it sure worked for me..take care. :)
