BeingSuccessful's Journal, 04 April 2018

Allowing myself to accommodate others in my household makes me adjust. Given the changes in my household and even less of a budget (hopefully a temporary situation), I've stuck to my health plan reasonably well. I am hot and cold on exercise and have done no Pilates but plan to resume. I need to check my emotions right now and stay hydrated to stay calm in lieu of a family emergency and setback. I've blown that twice, yelling at a loved one who has gone 51/50 and who stopped taking meds. Personal stuff.

On a healthier note, my hubby who was over 300lbs due to lack of exercise, sitting around, consuming starchy carbs, bad fats, processed foods and tons of sugar, has joined me. Why? His blood pressure was high. So, I began him with low salt and no salt while he allowed the internet to evangelize him (good and bad advice) and I snuck in some veggies, made a pico de gallo he could enjoy. Basically, he doesn't know this, but he has been eating half the calories for 2 months. He gets up more now and is helping me with chores outside the house. He has lost 25lbs. Woot!

Sometimes, it's not the talk. It's the walk.

I've explained this to him and when he gives out bad advice now that he reads about it daily, I explain to him that sometimes, beginning the change is what was most needed but that in the long run, different things work for us as individuals, depending on our health needs and that what I've been doing is to do what is best for me health wise and he is now doing it too, a tad differently than I am but to his own tastes. Of course, I'm now the short order cook in the household. LOL! You folks taught me that as we have a wide array of folks dieting for many different reasons, all of us finding what works for us and then sharing it. I read about all of you when I come on. You have made a difference in my health and that I am losing weight, well, that's just a bonus.

Thank you.

Rochelle.
