RiverRes's Journal, 24 March 2018

Not much loss this week, but I am not complaining. I have had tons of non-scale victories to keep me going. Learning I am inspiring people to work out and lose weight (from our trainer at work) is very re-affirming. I hadn't really thought of that before. Pictures of the "old me" keep popping up in odd places, I am so glad I have stuck with this and didn't go completely off the rails. My belt is back on the notch it was last summer even though I weigh more.

Keto is really helping. I am exiting the starving myself phase (calorie counting and food restriction) and I am now entering the eating more calories/fuel (comprised of good, natural fats, the right amount of protein, and limited carbs) for my body phase. My nail health is improving - who'd think that living on 1500 calories for 2-1/2 years would affect my overall health and manifest itself in brittle nails? I am trying to re-boot my metabolism so that any future weight loss is done without starving myself and being constantly hungry. Education is key.

Thanks to everyone here and those who are brave enough to buck the misinformation that has been fed to us our entire lives - that real food is bad. I only wished I had listened sooner.
