Weight has been static, most likely because of two things: 1) I don't play food Nazi on the weekends, and 2) I haven't been exercising.

This weekend was one of fabulous fun, food and family. Saturday was Armenian Genocide Memorial Day and we feasted on lamb shish kebab, chicken, pilaf, cheese boreg, and salad, with pear and filo torte and Armenian coffee for dessert.

The cooking started Thursday, with hours spent on my feet in the kitchen, carefully trimming the lamb. Saturday I cooked all day except for about 45 minutes when I sat by the pond with my sister, sipping iced tea and relaxing. That was verra nice.

I didn't eat much at dinner, but I'm sure the boreg and coffee held enough calories for a day's worth for a large man. The torte was inconsequential, as I used filo for the crust, pears canned in only pear juice, and added just the barest sprinkling of sugar. It was the cinnamon that made it really pop.

Sunday Steve and I, on impulse, went to the Scottish Games at the Woodland Fairgrounds. I've always wanted to go, but never had anyone interested enough to go with me. We had a great day. Although I didn't overdo it a ton on Saturday, Sunday was different. I had a veggie burger for brunch, then an enormous chocolate-dipped soft-serve waffle cone in the afternoon! It was definitely an out-of-the-norm treat and I enjoyed every bit of it!

I drank no alcohol all weekend; only iced tea or water. Last night for dinner we just picked at leftovers: bites of lamb, a little grilled onion, a little pilaf. Not much.

I do want to lose more, though, and don't care much for this static state, so I need to amp up the exercise. I may do some yoga, maybe some dancing, maybe some elliptical and/or walking. I also have a ton of stuff to do in the yard, and I know that counts. So, TOWANDA! or TALLY HO! or TAKE THAT, YOU! or whatever, but onward and upward!
