I guess when everyone in my family is overweight they look at you differently

My son is 22, he is 5'11", he looks like he has a similar frame to you. He is extremely healthy. His weigh can range from 160-180 depending on muscle mass. When he played football and was lifting a lot of weights he was 180. Now he's only lifting about twice a week and is a healthy 170. If you're family are very overweight they will likely not recognize what a healthy body looks like. If you are becoming obsessed about getting overly thin, thinner than a healthy BMI etc then you have to evaluate your next step and start making plans to adjust to a maintenance plan and calorie intake. You have done great, you must feel really proud. I'm sure your family love you, just reassure them that you are being careful and know what you are doing.

My son is also 5’11” and weighed between 145lbs when he was running cross country in high school and was absolutely ripped with a 6 pack and ate barely anything to 185 when he was playing football and playing tight end I believe. He sat around and ballooned up to 235 and just got back down to 174 through every other day fasting and watching his carb intake and he still runs. He has a medium frame and build and is healthy without being sickly. Too much under 150 or so and I would worry, but his ribs and hipbones don’t really stick out and he can still put away a mean pizza! 🤷🏻‍♀️

My bf is super tall and has always been skinny, not too muscular. 6’3 170... at his most 🤣 so it makes me feel even more over weight than I should... ☹️

I think as long as you feel healthy, are eating balanced meals and being active. The scale shouldn’t be the only indicator of health. As long as you don’t feel weak... have plenty of energy to be young and have fun... then do what feels right to you... For me I had the most energy and was so active and felt great when I was 5’3 101-107lbs... which would be considered under weight to some... but that’s always been my body type. So now with his extra weight and extra emotional baggage it is a lot... I personally always say “do you...”

When I was in high school I was very athletic playing varsity tennis 10th-12th grades, in the 10th grade I was 5' 10.5" tall 135 pounds, in my senior year 5' 11.5 145 pounds, in my 20's I was 6'0 149 lbs I've shrank 1/2 inch at age 51 and gained a lot. I was up to 230 the heaviest I've ever been

I'm losing weight because I think that I will feel better like my teens. I contribute feeling lousy to overeating and being overweight my goal is to get back to 150.

But not sure if my feeling lousy is wrong thinking I say its related to my weight when it could be old age?

John we have a lot in common beside first names. My BMI charts say I'm a normal weight at about 23 BMI which is upper range of normal almost borderline overweight I'm 5' 7.5 inches 158.2 lbs today with a medium frame. One in-law told me that I'm wasting away. Every time this this guy or anyone in his overweight household see me they tell me I'm loosing more weight. Most everyone knows that I have been in maintenance mode a couple of years now. It's just not so and I'm tired of defending myself and being called a lair. I have stopped being concerned by their comments. Their health history tells me that I'm on the path that is best for me...
