CarmenR4322's Journal, 24 January 2018

This is my first Journal entry!

Im officially a week into counting calories, when I started this I didn’t have this in mind, I was simply just going to cut back my food intake, quit eating fast food all the time, no more soda, drink more water and quit smoking.

I’ve now been smoke free for 1 1/2 weeks same for fast food and soda. FatSecret has actually helped make counting calories much easier (something I’ve never been able to figure out) it does all the hard work for me. I try to stick around 1000 calories a day and fast from 6pm till 8am while doing at least 30 minutes of exercise daily.

My starting weight was 345 pounds. I’m down 3 pounds in my first week!

I’m committed and getting stronger everyday!

I’m looking to follow people with similar goals and journeys! Please feel free to follow 😊
342.0 lb Lost so far: 3.0 lb.    Still to go: 147.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Good for you, on all fronts. Quitting smoking and eating better. Congratulations on making the decision to get healthy. It's so worth the effort.

Welcome!! And good job on last week! Just don’t restrict your calories too much or your metabolism will slow down and you will actually stall weight loss. I’ve read no woman should eat less than 1200 a day?? Not sure but might want to do a little research or ask your doctor. Best wishes to you!!

Thank you for the support! @Momma I’ll have to check in to that, I’m not well versed when it comes to dieting!

Welcome to FS. While I haven't lost all my weight on FS I started out at 365 and around 200 now and not done. I have done it slowly and it has stayed off even if I yo yo a bit. The one thing I cannot do is skip logging in my meals. Let me know if I can help you towards your goal

Hello glad to have you in the group. You didn't mention water. Are you drinking enough? 96 oz daily+ is what the dietitian stated.

nice job... keep up the great work... we are all here... writing food down...I have been bad at it lately... helps me see where all the calories go... some will plan their day of food by how many calories are in what they plan on eating... it also helps me make adjustments if the scale isn't so nice to me
