Weight loss success isn't only measured on the scale. Sometimes our body loses fat (especially when exercising), but the scale stays the same. If you just started execising, your muscles might be retaining water to repair themselves. Try to look at the big picture (your weight loss over time), not just one day or one week. If you are eating right and exercising, it will show up one way or another. You might also try to measure yourself. Sometimes it helps to see the inches lost, when the scale doesn't want to move. Good luck!

I'm thinking it's muscle gain. If you're doing everything right, it has to be that. Especially since you are working out a lot. If you feel lighter and your clothes are looser, go with that!! I'm sure you're looking great...keep going girl!!

Thanks so much, you know i put those jeans on today that i wore a week ago, and they felt loose a week ago, they are like my test, and they felt even better today! Ahhhhhh...............I HATE SCALES, i do! But,i am headed right now to the treadmill and my ab lounger, and i am gonna look better .............soon! I do feel better! I did do my measurements 3 days ago, for first time, wish i'd had done it weeks ago, but, oh well, we'll remeasure in about 7-10days again, that will be the test, and when the jeans are baggy and look bad(but good), that will be the sure sign! Thanks for your re-a-surence, and your faith. love brenda

Just keep it going! Don't worry about the scale! This is a life changing program. You said that you feel great and lighter, REMEMBER that feeling, keep it in your mind before you start that binge!! Remember why you are on this program, we are all going to have good and bad weeks, you actually stayed the same...in my book that is a positive for sure!! Who knows, if you continue your good habits they might catch up with you next week and you might lose twice as much! Stay positive and remember that this is just a small pothole in the road that leads to your goals!!!

oh, I so feel your pain, as I have been there! But I agree with everyone that you must have gained muscle. Muscle weighs a lot more than fat so you could have lost a bunch of fat and not even realized it. I've tried to lose weight a number of times and been so excited that I was losing when I felt the looseness of my pants and then been crushed by the scale. I'd say get a body fat measuring scale but I have one of those and they don't help that much with that because of their varying accuracy. I'm sure you're doing fine. btw, I see that you work with developmentally disabled individuals. I have one individual that I work with sometimes too (used to be FT but now I work mainly in mental health instead). it is rewarding isn't it?

Hang in there, maybe your body is adjusting to the fat loss. If your clothes are looser it means you have lost. The scale will catch up.
