I'm a little befuddled, friends. I met up with the ex a week ago for lunch and backgammon. Always a great time. As we were leaving, he walked me to my car, and noticed that the headlights were oxidized quite badly. He asked me if I was planning on keeping the car for a while, and I said I am. So, a couple of days ago, he texts me, and says he has new headlights, and when is a good time for me to bring the car to him so he can install them.
I took the car to his place this morning, and he didn't just get the lenses, he got the whole headlight assembly! And he wouldn't let me pay for them. Those don't come cheap. I checked online, and the average price I found was $183...EACH!
I've mentioned before that he's just a really nice guy, but I'm sort of gobsmacked that he would do that for me.
In other news...I've mentioned before that I follow a few travel vloggers. A food they frequently mention is a fish called barramundi. To my surprise, my local grocery store had some, so I got a good sized fillet to try. It is really, really good! I stir-fried some Swiss chard, bean sprouts and shiitake mushrooms with a little fish sauce, lemon juice, and some prepared sambal, then steamed the fish over top of the veggies. It was a fantastic dinner!
Today feels like a 'get-stuff-done' day, so I may tackle installing my new kitchen faucet. I ordered it from Wish (dot) com. I'd been looking at faucets, but the kind I wanted averaged around $270 locally. I found it on Wish for $44! It took almost a month to get here, but worth it. It looks like a restaurant-style faucet, with a high arch and pull-down sprayer.
