Well i had my baby, a beautiful gentle little boy, and so the journey begins.

I guess that's two journeys....one being a mum to 2 boys, the other loosing the 16 kilos (about 30 pounds) that i gained. Even when you try and stay on top of things the last month really gets you. I pretty much didn't and couldn't get off the couch with pelvic pain. Mix that with the heat wave we had, and my diet of only cold things...like ice cream.....well

So tomorrow i start 1 month of 'lite and easy' to kick start me, then back to south beach when i get the clear to exercise again.

Oh yes, i thought having a C-section was an easy way out (breech baby) boy was i wrong. No driving for 6 weeks? no way! I know it's only been 7 days, but you must be able to drive and fast walk after a couple of weeks?

Hhmmm lets see how this all goes.
176.0 lb Lost so far: 0 lb.    Still to go: 35.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
losing 4.5 lb a week

I also had a c-section, and I felt better probably in a week and a half to two weeks, i could walk fine, every now and then i'd have a twinge of pain, but you should be ok. DO try to take it easy though, it's hard enough with two little ones running around, and with pain on top of that?! Good luck, you can do it!

Congrats! What a sweet baby! I agree that a c-section is not easy. I only had a c-section with my second daughter and it was no fun! It took a while longer to feel better than with my first daughter, but it seems like all of a sudden you do feel better. I did not drive until I was cleared by the dr (6 weeks) but it really hurt to even sit behind the wheel until then. The thing that was really a blessing in disguise was that my baby was sick and we had to go to the dr EVERY day for a week and a half, so it made me get up and keep moving. Just take things slow and enjoy that sweet baby!

What a precious gift! Just enjoy, relax and take care of yourself. I never heard anyone say, "Dang I wish I started doing things sooner after my C-section!" But I have heard many people say they wish they would have just slowed down for a while longer.

I know its not the same thing, but after my hysterectomy, I started driving about the 3rd week (supposed to wait 6) and I felt ok until some jerk pulled out in front of me and I had to lift my leg fast and quick to hit the break. I was ok but there was a little twinge of pain. Also I was told, what if theres a fender bender or accident and the belt tightens up around you or you get banged by the jolt of an accident? You'd be in real sorry shape with fresh incisions...so please, take it slow.

congrats!! nothing more precious than a new baby!! I had c-sections with both. the first one was tough. I couldn't do much for about 2 weeks. Just take it easy. you will have plenty of time to be running around soon enough!! I did find when i tried to do too much, i got really bad pains in my incision area.

Congratulations on the birth of your baby boy - he looks gorgeous! Just take it easy for a while. In the UK we're advised not to even think about trying to lose the weight for at least six weeks, and even then only with exercise rather than reducing calories. Now the fact that I waited more than a year to start is another matter entirely... Hope everything's going OK. Good luck! :)

Awe... sorry I missed this posting earlier, I was working. Be careful about the C-section and recovery. It takes the insides a while to "heal" and stay that way. Take it easy as doctors orders and you'll not have complications. ;) CONGRATZ!!! Sweet, sweet, lil guy!
