I ate Oreos last night... My sister-in-law brought the whole package down to snack on while we watched a show. I made my own snack even! Pumpkin seeds, rainbow carrots, Greek yogurt dip & a string cheese! When she went to bed she left the Oreos behind... I talked myself out of eating "even just one" for an hour or so... should have marched them upstairs & put them back in the pantry as soon as I started craving them... I finished what was left... I think about 9... I'm not going to beat myself up over this. But I want to remember & be able to look back on this entry. I feel like crap this morning & my glucose reading was over 150 for the first time in weeks... No bueno!

It was just food, you ate it and now you're done with it and back on the wagon! That is a WIN in my book!!!

High morning glucose can easily put a damper on how you feel at the start of the day (or any time of day, period, to be honest). :P We always have an opportunity to learn from our moments of weakness and use that memory to make better choices in the future. We're not perfect, but we can keep on trying our best! You're still awesome! ^^

def dont beat yourself up. it was only one snack, not days worth of weakness. You'll be fine. and the next time the situation presents itself, you'll remember feeling crappy, and you'll be able to resist. Good luck!

It happens to everyone. Trick is to get back on the wagon. plus on a couple of days it will be out of your system calorically and sugar wise. the body recovers ;)

You are right, don't beat yourself up over this. Use it as learning tool and move on from it.

I hear ya! I binged on a double chocolate cake for a few days but got me over feeling deprived and missing junk. Back on track after feeling lousy also : ) It's a new day!

The fact that you're documenting the behavior, the effect and the regret speaks VOLUMES about your desire to be BETTER. Some of the hardest lessons learned are the ones we inadvertently learn.

I've found over the years that the effects of eating too many carbs, but especially sugar, is most times enough to stop me from eating them. I call it a "carb hangover." I just feel awful the next morning. Oreos are a tough one though...

You owned it, keep it moving. We all have been there...

A stumble is no big deal...The way you are logging the mistake so as not to make it again speaks volumes...stay focused and motivated...

Thanks everyone! I really waffled about whether to write a post. I decided it was a learning moment & best to document & hold myself accountable! I really appreciate all of your support!

I noticed you said about being type 2 diabetic. When I was 397 lbs my sugars was the highest 584. And I was on 1000mgs 2xs day metformins and humalog during meals and triseba 100 units at night. But when I started losing the weight my sugars range from 62 to 84 without insulin. No more insulin. Just keep your head up. And continue losing you will do great.
