I've found, when I follow it, that the low carb high fat lifestyle works for me. Once I get over the initial carb withdrawals, I stop craving and I'm better able to listen to my body so I'm not snacking etc... I actually find that 2 meals a day suit me just fine. I do hope you find something that works for you.

Where can I find out how much is an average fat, protein, carb, etc intake a day?

This might be a helpful source for you www.nowloss.com/how-to-lose-50-pounds-fast-in-5-months.htm Dig around in the site a bunch, I found a lot of helpful info that helped get me started. This was my 1st journal entry: "I just learned about and started Intermittent Fasting today... I'm using info, calorie goal and workout plans from NowLoss. I found the site yesterday, and am thrilled, it's full of free info, education, workouts, nutrition, diet plan options, etc. I am NOT in any way associated with the site, but am super excited and grateful to have found it, want to share if anyone else might benefit from it. I found this FatSecret app to help reach my goals from LossNow, and am loving this app too. Now I just need to stick with it🙏💫👼☺"

It's also a mental thing. I know you've heard it before, but, it's not a diet it's a lifestyle change. You have to truly decide to lose weight in your mind. You have to change your relationship with food. Find a hobby or something to take the place of eating for comfort. Only have good choices available to you. At my house I have a shelf in the pantry and the fridge that are MINE. The rest of the food I buy for my family isn't mine. I don't touch their foods except to prepare it for them., but, I know it's not mine. Make your food inconvenient for you. When I started, I put my food on the highest shelf in the panty, I had to get out a step stool to get a snack. Now, I keep it on the bottom shelf because I'm not as attached to food as I once was. Really consider the outcome of your journey. Make a conscious choice to change something everyday in order to improve your life and you'll drop weight without it being a chore.

Diets do work, but you have to be totally committed. Every day is a new commitment. It's not an easy path we walk. I love food. I love ice cream. The keto diet worked for me, but you cannot cheat at all. Cheating even a little is all our downfalls regardless of the diet. It's how we all got large to begin with. You can do it and it will work if you want it bad enough. I quit smoking like 20 times, but it wasn't until I really wanted to that it stuck. Do you mean it when you say it?

Crystal ok you had a set back and that's ok. I am sure we all have at one time or another on this journey of losing weight have done the same. and for me, I had to realize that losing weight is a change of a former life style with food and I truly believe there is a mind connection attached to it as well. I myself am new to the community and i know that I have been where you are right now and it was very discouraging for me, Truly.. You hang in there and keep it moving. You got this!! You will find what works for you.

Hi there! You're not dieting, you're changing your way of eating (WOE) and it needs to become a new behavior in your life. To me, dieting is for losing a few pounds to fit into a wedding dress, or to lose a few pounds before hitting the beach at the beginning of Summer. A new way of eating is something that has to become ingrained and then once the goal(s) are met, the WOE needs to be maintained in order to maintain the weight you've established for yourself. You will have LOTS of support here, let us know how we can help.

Been there done that! So I know what you're going through. Look at this as part of the journey and you'll eventually get your "mojo" back!

Crystel, it sounds to me like you already know what you need to do ("I have not been exercising and I eat carbs all day long.. "). I know what I need to do to and it's along the same lines. And you also know that following a diet you can't go back to your previous routine. Permanent changes are lifestyle changes. This is a journey, not a bandaid. Keep trying and looking for things you can change permanently. That's when you'll start seeing lasting results.
