Might not suit you at all but I have a friend who "diets" for one week in a month and the rest of the month eats "normally". Yes, her weight fluctuates but overall she's maintaining between 60kg and 64kg. Almost 10% of her body weight but she's happy with that as she's either comfy in her clothes or they're slightly loose. Don't get me wrong, she's genuinely changed her way of eating, cutting out added sugar and pre-prepared foods, but she isn't so focussed on the increases she sees. I'm not saying it would be right for everyone (I'll be honest, I'm not sure I could do it) but it's a different way of thinking about maintenance that might work for you. Best of luck!

Its so true, its weird, because in your mind you think I've eaten just like I have been doing, I don't need to log it...up 3 lbs the next day. I have had to give myself some grace on these days. Your doing great.

It's a lifetime fight for some of us. I'm in that group for sure. We are all here with you; you are not alone.

The logging to me is what I think will keep me going. That and the entries I make into my journal to get down what's happening to me. This place is also beneficial for me due to the support from all of the other members. I would have already failed if not for FS and it's great members.

I definitely need to record my food. I go off the rail if I don't!!

Logging is why I joined, and it feels so freeing. Not enough brain space to figure it out otherwise. Working on putting together standard meals and freezing a bunch of them, so the logging will get easier.

I hear you girly! Logging keeps you mindful of what you're eating and how much. You got this! :-)

I had to keep track of everything for over 4 years. I had bariatric surgery and the process required it! I just took a hiatus for a month or two, but I'm right back on it now because it DOES make you MUCH more cognisant of what you are putting in your mouth if you record it ALL! 🙋🏻

Thanks EVERYONE for the support! I'm still annoyed that the walnuts I was binging on were 200 calories for 1/4 cup!...the rest will go to the squirrels! Maybe that's why they call them NUTS, cause you are nuts for wasting so many calories...hahaha!

I just eat nuts slowly. They are high calorie because they are high fat, but they are good fats. Not really for binging. LOL but they will help keep hunger cravings down if you eat them slowly. 🤷🏻‍♀️
