Threw out my scale. Brave, right? Nah. Started my fast Saturday night carb loaded at 204 pounds. This morning, the scale put me at 206... then... 209... then had my shower... 211. I could have hoped it was muscle gain, but that can't be it. Another half day of fasting to go. Oh, the old scale I inherited from mom puts me right around the 200 mark, but I prefer the digitals. Time to shop.

So what brand of digital is supposed to be fairly accurate? My Drs. all have me weigh on digital and I always weigh at least 6 pounds more which I don't count....I think their's are set 5 pounds more on purpose....so I have stayed away from digital....might reconsider if I had any idea which one was supposed to be better.

I have a Taylor. very happy with it.

Yeah, to me, it doesn't really matter if it's higher or lower than accurate. All I really want to see is the trend. I'm not a fan of the ones that do the bmi calculations or the body fat measure. Any suggestions anyone?

Thanks Peaches. Mine was a Taylor too and it made it about 5 years. I think that's pretty good, but I want something without a memory if possible.

Springs get worn out and then weight shift every time you change positions on the scales. Weight can vary depending on what clothing you have on each day. That's why I always weigh myself in the nude. I can lose up to 3 lbs with a good BM. My wife says I'm full if --it. Keep the faith. It will all come off if you don't quit.

I like the Weight Watchers digital one. I bought mine at Costco.

I like my Tanita scale that does a full body composition analysis. They have different models to choose from. It doesn't depend on wi-fi and this is why I like it over some of the others recommeneded.

I bought an Ozeri from Walmart, the first one kept coming on and off but they sent a replacement within days and it works great, shows in green and red loss and gains. Inexpensive too

Yeah, I weigh myself a couple of times in a row and then pick the best weight once a week. I guess I could blame the scale that I haven't lost any weight in 6 months but I know the real reason so I am sticking with the scale I have and trying to get back on track for the long haul. Good luck with your shopping!

I think I need a scale like your mom's that knocks 10 pounds off... :)

if your fasting I assume your drinking a LOT of water, probably just water weight :)

Without the carbs, the water doesn't do much but pass through. (cough) Scale was definitely toast. Hmmm, toast.

Didnt know that! I just got a scale and it just keeps going up in weight even though I'm doing so well. might invest in a nice 50+ dollar one because I already have a bad relationship with the $10 I bought. 😂😂
