I am struggling with maintaining a balanced and positive attitude. By the time I got home yesterday I was really tired and never did get anything done that I had planned ... and the internet connection was extremely spotty due to weather (snow ... not a lot but snow). So finally I decided it was not going to happen and tried to relax.

This morning I am pumped to get things done. Hubby calls about 7 am ... his dad is on his way to the hospital ... some type of paranoia ... anxiety ... something. We have a non-refundable hotel room reserved for Saturday night. I sound selfish even mentioning it I suppose. I didn't get what I needed done yesterday because they needed groceries ... including milk and their phone card charged. I arrive there and milk isn't on the list ... Kleenex, grapefruit, Ensure, strawberry ice-cream, & blueberry muffins are the only things on the list. I asked about the milk and she tells me her neighbor got it for them. I am thinking to myself ... if the neighbor got the milk and there were only 5 items on the list why did she only get the milk? ... I drove 45 minutes into town for FIVE items. A quarter of a tank of gasoline for FIVE items. I guess SIX items wouldn't have made me feel any better.

So ... despite my frustration I am determined to make today productive. I'm waiting to hear from hubby about FIL's status. Sounds like a medication issue ... I hope that is all it is. He has an appointment with the dentist who will eventually do his oral surgery this afternoon. Perhaps that won't happen either.

Okay ... five things ... need to focus here ... not 'feeling' it ...

1. I have an internet connection
2. laundry is started which means I won't have to do it this weekend
3. my mother is healthy
4. talking to my best friend last night ... even though it was because she is having a tough time
5. Mexico in less than 30 days

Okay. I'm just going to do it. I'm going to concentrate ... stop worrying about what tomorrow holds ... breathe in and out ... and take each moment as it comes!!!

I love #1 what your thankful For.... lol... The sad part is I dont have internet connection at home... Unless I get lucky enough for one of my neighbors to turn on their unsecured network! LoL.. I hope you have a great weekend and for your weekend not to be so frustrating!!! Smile!!!

Count down to MEXICO is on!! I am sorry your are in a funk w/ the rest. It will pass won't it. Try that rule 'will this matter in 5 years?' and get over it woman... enjoy your NOW.

I think you've hit the nail on the head with the 'just get on with it and don't think about all the rest'. You can't change someone else or their attitude, only the way you react to it. Concentrate on the count down to Mexico and support your OH in what he feels he has to do. ((hugs))

LOL abba! moose: I certainly hope your well deserved dancing weekend doesn't get interfered with. Internet: I know only too well how you feel about losing the internet connection. Though I seldom lose power, it may be worth checking to see if keeping the routers going with an external power supply would keep the connection alive. The large external power supplies have been dropping in price and getting much stronger.
