Yesterday was a great day!

I really feel that I am back in the groove these days. I sleep like a baby at night, I don't really stress about work, I'm happy, I'm in the 77 kgs range, and I can handle by far the most challenges thrown at me throughout the day. Nice!

Yesterday, I had that damn chocolate wandering my mind all day. Yes, that damn chocolate is haunting me these days. I'm not sure what it is, maybe it's just that it's an option?

I actually made room in my food budget to go get a nice, big chocolate bar. Then, as I came home and got settled in, had dinner, some jell-o and fruit, I decided to simply skip it and save the 500 calories. Nice! I went to bed happy and feeling VERY accomplished.

This morning, looking at my RDI outlook for today (I already planned ALL meals! - and it's only 5:30 AM!) it hit me again. There is room for a chocolate bar! I'm not sure if I'm gonna have one, probably not, but if I do it will be a smaller one, or a nutrition bar instead. The local stores here have a nice little chocolate bar called a "free bar" (I know, I wish it was a free bar too! lol!), and it's only 110 calories. I might just go for one of those if I can't resist. They're pretty good, and give a taste of having something "naughty".

So what about the weigh-in? Well, strangely enough, I gained a pound since yesterday - the same one I lose the day before. Also, my fat percentage is up ever so slightly. Makes no sense in my world, but I'm okay with it. So many factors affect us when we do daily weigh-ins. It might well be gone again tomorrow.

Tonight is music playing time with the kids. We were on winter break last week, so it's been two weeks. I'm super curious to hear how they're doing. Have they rehearsed as agreed? We'll see!

This means of course that it's my VERY long work day. I leave home at 7:45 AM (or so), and I'll be home again around 8:30 PM. LONG day. I had breakfast already, I'll bring leftover spaghetti and tomato sauce for lunch, and Wife and I will meet up at the better local pizza joint for dinner - I'll be having a pita bread with lettuce and tuna. Yum! No pizza for me. Especially not now, that I'm back on track. I don't want evil pizza to mess it all up for me. Been there, done that, learned from it.

I will, though, have pizza sometime in the near future. I just gotta find the right time for it, and be prepared for all the evil it does to me.

I haven't been too good at commenting on my buddies journals lately. I apologize for that. I want you to know that I DO read them, and that I am here - however I tend to spend a lot less time at my laptop these days. I go for "quality time" doing other things, maybe as simple as watching a movie. I try to not do several things at a time, I want to have the full experience of things when I do them. It's part of the mindfulness-thing (though I haven't moved much forward watching the videos). Do one thing at a time, embrace it, then move to the next item on the list. If you (for example) watch a movie AND surf online, you're not really getting the full experience of either. Makes sense to me. I like the way it works.

Today, I'm thankful for:
- A great day yesterday.
- ANOTHER good night's sleep.
- The Walking Dead being back on TV again. I love that show!
- Eric Clapton's Unplugged jamming on my TV this morning.
- Staying in the 77's.

Life is good!

Sounds like your doing good King, awesome. Its good to see your planning ahead your food, I try that sometimes. I need to do some historical logging for yesterday though, I always fall behind on the weekend.

JP, things ARE pretty good in the kingkeld camp these days. I really feel that I have some things squared away right now. It's nice. Have fun "back-logging". :) To me, it's essential to log all the way. I think it's a key thing. I do hope to be able to lose the logging eventually, and just "live normally" instead. I'm just in no way there yet - or so I feel. I probably COULD do it, should I want to. I just wouldn't be comfortable with it. However, as Ryan75 said one day - (paraphrased) "You can't sail the seas if you're afraid of losing sight of the shore". I need to do it, once I'm comfortable around the weight. Maybe when I've finished surgery?

Awesome! I'm glad you're back on track and feeling in control. :-) Hope the jam session went well and you enjoy the pita. Great idea to keep a little wiggle room in your day just in case, sometimes knowing that you can have something is enough to keep it from weighing on your mind as much. Keep up the mindfulness. I think that's wonderful. It makes life a more memorable experience.

Congratulations on pushing away from the chocolate...I wasn't so strong, and four pieces of pizza jumped me...forcing me to eat them...1080cal in one meal, I feel like I just ate a lead weight...I still have to use caution around my old favorites!! Hope your long day went well & you enjoyed the jam session...Later.
