bowd65's Journal, 03 February 2017

Well I am still pleased with a half pound loss. Considering this week my exercise has been utter crap. Shorter walks with the dogs and no swimming. Also tiredness, I had forgotten just how hard shift work can be.

So now I have a week off I am going to completely rethink what I am going to do about exercising. My next goal was to start toning my body, so that I shall start this weekend and that should also burn a few extra calories too. Even if I only get to swimming once a week when I am working it's still more than I used to do. I still walk plenty with the dogs, so I am not going to worry. Like I said before if I only lose half a pound a week, then I will still be happy.

Good luck if you are weighing in today, happy Friday 😁

Don't be disappointed if the extra exercise doesn't make a great difference to your weight. You burn about 400 calories an hour swimming, one of the better exercises for doing so, but that amount of exercise tends to make you hungry. And we all know what happens when we're hungry!

Jocko's right about exercise. It's good for you for all kinds of reasons, but for weight loss... not so much. Anyway, I bet you're on your feet and busy at work. And half a pound a week is a good steady loss. Keep that up and you'll be at your target just when it's time to head for the beach! Plenty of people (including me) won't manage that. Best of luck and best wishes.

Nice loss Bowd, perfectly respectable! Don't forget that working will shift the calories so not 'exercising' as much will be mitgated but the tiredness can slow things down a bit - I was in bed before 9 last night as I couldn't keep my eyes open so feel bright eyed and bushy tailed this morning, just in time for the weekend!

Good loss, Bowd. Nothing wrong with 1/2 pound a week.

Thank you all for the support. Jocko, i think the swimming is making a difference to my weight as i seem to lose more when i go especially twice a week. My weight loss was averaging at roughly 1.0-2.0 pounds a week. I would usually have lunch when i got home from swimming and eat a banana when i come out of the leisure centre to keep me going. It will be interesting to see if i lose more next week as i am planning to make it twice. Snoop, you may surprise yourself about getting near your target when it's time to head down to the beach. Yes ST i am in bed most nights for 09.00 as i can't stay awake, but i am an early riser, i always have been. Not sure about the saying healthy, wealthy and wise for me though. Thanks Doobrie, totally agree with you, there is nothing wrong with 1/2 pound a week.

I agree with everyone! You had a loss this week and you earned every bit of that fat loss, I am sure.

Well l would be happy to loose 1/2 pound!! Last week l did 3 sessions with a trainer for one hour each( almost vomited itwas so intense on one session!!) l was on1000 calories ( average 30 grs fat and 40 to 50 grs carbs) drank plenty of water and guess what...... did not loose an ounce 😪😪😪

Gosh Marie, i think i would be gutted if i had done all what you had done and not lost a single ounce. I keep reading that going under 1200 calories sends your body into starvation mode and so it holds onto storage of fat. That's why i try not to go under 1200.

Weight does move slower the lighter you get, but half a pound a week is fine. Well done!

Thank you Mrs M, M2B and Heidi. I couldn't believe it this morning, i weighed myself and was down to 158.2. So nearly another pound loss. But i only record weight loss on Friday's. It will be interesting to see if it stays off and if i can lose anymore ☺
