TGIF Fat Secret Buddies! Today was a humbling experience for me. It was my weigh-in day on the WW site. I was excited. I worked out for an hour on the Wii Fit last night and thought I had made up for my poor eating on Superbowl Sunday during the remainder of the week. I was shocked to see I'd gained nearly a pound!

I'm wondering if that "gain" was artificial. I worked out from 9- 10 PM and drank a ton of water (at least 3 full bottles) right before going to bed. We also had a relatively late dinner, at around 7:30 PM.

Regardless of the reasoning, I vow for this to be a better week! Tonight I'm making tilapia sauteed w/ cherries and almonds for dinner (recipe from WW site). Three points per serving.

I tend to screw up every weekend. Mainly from drinking w/ friends and then going into Cookie Monster mode (gobbling everything bad for me in sight!) I know that is my main problem. If I can find the willpower to beat that habit, it will definitely help w/ my weight loss.

THREE THINGS I'M GRATEFUL FOR TODAY:
1) Getting a high score on advanced aerobics on Wii Fit
2) Fun coworkers
3) The start of a new week to make better choices

I hope everyone has a terrific Friday! :)

It really is hard to make up for those "Splurge" days... especially when you overdo it. I had chinese food 3 days ago (it was a blizzard, i was bored, dinner wasn't cooked...blah blah blah) and after 2 days of hard work, have finally lost back the 2 pounds I put on in that one impulse meal. Then again... sodium, water weight, and the reaction to working out that your body has... 1 pound really isn't that much.

I think you will be fine! I have the same problem when I drink a lot of water before Bedtime. I see a gain and then I become Frustrated because Im gaining. But Im sure that will go down and you will have minus tomorrow! Have a great weekend Chris!!!

I know all about the weekends that wipe out a week of being "good." I think it's not so much about will power but about planning out every meal in detail, making exercise goals, and making sure the FIRST thing that goes into my mouth is something healthy. Once I start down that weekend snack road, I'm all done. I'm also vowing to have a super healthy week. We'll do it together. That tilapia recipe sounds yum. I've never made tilapia.

It's the late dinner. I only had a thousand calories during the entire day yesterday (late dinner too) and also had the scale report an increase. Don' let the short term fluctuations bother you, especially in this case, when they *are* artificial.

Weekends are the hardest because we don't have the same schedule as we do all week long. I think one way to look at it is not as a "weekend" but just as two days, thats all. Also, maybe you co say to yourself, "Ok every OTHER weekend, I'll go out drinking or whatever, and the other weekends I'll be good." Its hard, but you have to come to some conclusion, or else all your hard work durring the week will be ruined. Trust me, I know.....

Thanks for the support and suggestion guys! I really appreciate it. The last time I was FS, and my weight started going back up, I threw in the towel and gave up (stopped checking in at FS). I won't allow myself to do that again!

I'm sure all that water and late dinner had lots to do with it. Next week you should see a pretty big loss if you stick to eating well all week. Don't overdo it on Saturday if possible so you can enjoy yourself on Sunday, then back to work on Monday. ONE MEAL at a time! Just because you screw up in the morning (for example, not saying you did) doesn't mean your whole day is shot. Got it? You'll be fine! Can't wait to see your big loss next week!!

Thanks Laura... I'm hoping... I had this whole calendar based on 2 lbs a week of loss... was supposed to be under 140 next week by my calculations. :(

Don't get discouraged. I think Info is right and this is an artifical gain. Keep on track and you will be fine.
