I've neve rhad sausage gravy... could you make it with turkey sausage to make it heathier?? Have fun going into town - you have to bring your own garbage???

Yes ... I have often used Turkey Sausage to make gravy ... it is quite delicious!! We just still have Pork Sausage in the freezer so I'm trying to use it all up!!! Yes ... we are hillbillies you know ... we load up our vehicle with our garbage and take it to the dump ourselves!! I told you we live in the boonies!!! Dishes are done, gravy is made, Pilates is callng me!!!

I've seen biscuits and gravy on TV, but no, never had them. Don't know of anywhere that would serve them either. LOL Sorry!!!!

I've never had that neither...and I can't figure out how you use the sausage to make gravy. I thought gravy was a kind if sauce...anyways, I read you need oil for the generator, did you serviced it yourself? hope everything is allright with it, no more strange noise. Have a good day!

lol, This is an interesting conversation. I believe biscuits and gravy is most common in certain parts of the South, and that there are probably more than a few Americans who are either not or only vaguely familiar with it. I was first exposed to it in a college dormitory and am not at all surprised that Sarah and jessy have never heard of it at all.

I did not grow up in the "south" ... unless of course California counts as the south??? For those of you who have not had the calorie laden pleasure of biscuits and gravy ... one crumbles and cooks up the sausage (and yes turkey sausage or vegetarian sausage counts). The "gravy" is "white" gravy ... flour based, and you mix in the cooked sausage. Traditionally it is served over biscuits but my hubby prefers it over hashbrown potatoes ... it is quite delicious!!! It is also great over scrambled eggs!!

We eat biscuits and gravy here in the Midwest. Should we mention red eye gravy -- which is essentially meat grease? Eeeeeek! We also paint our toes red from time to time! He-he-he-he-he! Enjoy Super Bowl Sunday!

LOL, There you are! I did say "most common in certain parts of the South." These days everyone eats foods from all over. Who knows, these things probably originated in Hungary or Poland (or somewhere in the Old World anyway). Texas is more "Lone Star," but still pretty much in the area. :-)

My dad used to eat biscuits and gravy. I must have had it, too, just don't remember. I remember his gravy was dark because he used so much black pepper in it. Enjoy your red toes, hot stuff! :)
