bowd65's Journal, 14 November 2016

Well officially only one pound weight loss as i had gained one pound the previous week. But hey it's two pounds off, so pleased with that! I can see a big difference in how slack some of my clothes are getting. I have almost fully recovered now after the radiotherapy treatment, well apart from tiredness. So this week I will be starting swimming. My aim is to go twice a week if possible, but this week I will just go once to see how things are. It all adds to the usual exercise plenty of walks with the dogs. My GP has given me a sick note til the 3rd of January and then it's back to work and back to normality!

You've more than lost your 'blip' so well done! Glad you're heading back to normality. Have you discussed the idea of starting part time for the first few weeks? It might help you ease back in and not be such a shock to the system after so long. Worth a thought, anyway. Take care!

Well that's a good result Bowd. I am delighted that you are recovery well from your treatment now. Swimming will give you a great boost and you will feel better for it... just wish I felt like it too. I bet you are delighted about your sick note which takes you over the Xmas period- and so it should. When I had my operation 5 years ago, my consultant said he could write in certain conditions on my return to work certificate. He asked me the tasks I did not want to do.. Playground duty was one of these tasks. I also was allowed to work mornings only, so I was able to squeeze very last drop of my return to work conditions , in order to get myself back on the right track with my health. Happy days ... have a good one xxx

Thanks Mrs M 😊 Thanks Phooka i will be going back on phase return and then part time 30 hours a week. I also have all my annual leave apart from i think two days before i went sick. So i will be able to do 2 days leave a week til April roughly. I think i should be ok. It is a very physical job as a rehab nurse, so i will have a few weeks to ease back in 😊

That's a great result. Take what the scales give you. They are always eager to take it back.
