Put on some weight. Had quite a few meals with Dad. :) Weight up. Not concerned. I can get it down again and Dad's a good guy and worthy of the time. I wish I could have spent more time with him.
Mom had a major stroke. She's immobile and her speech is slurred. Degree changes from day today, but we're seeing a general slide. She is quite cognizant of her situation and when she's up for it you can have short, lucid, conversations.
After a week, I had to come home. I'm ready to go south again when things get worse. I'm not happy about coming home but circumstances here demand it.

Mom's quite ready. First day we were there we laughed together with her and had a good conversation. Blessed to have had that. Thanks everyone.

My heart goes out to you! Imagine my quiet horror, when called over to help my dad with mom, and realized she had had a stroke. Her slurred speech and crooked mouth was a clear indicator...my poor father did not know...long story...anyway I pray for you and I know you have the strength during this difficult time.

I am sorry you are having to go through this. My mother had a stroke after surgery. My sister and I had to fight almost literally, to get the nurses and even doctors to acknowledge it. We saw it but we were only lay people, not professionals. Hah My prayers are with y'all during this difficult time.
