kingkeld's Journal, 28 December 2011

WOW. So many thoughts after yesterday's journal. And I can see that I got a bunch of you thinking and pondering and soul searching too. I like that. Let's put on the thinking-hat now and then - it's good for us!

It's been very interesting to read all your comments, and I really appreciate it. You guys made me think even further too!

Apologies goes to Rpalmst, who now has to spend a full hour reading through my journal and the comments! LOL!

Today, it will be a much shorter journal. I woke up late, and we have a tight schedule, so I can't spend TOO long writing and pondering. If you only knew how long I sometimes spend writing. It's good for me though - it's a great mental exercise.

Yesterday I ended up with 30 minutes of workout, 90 minutes of walking and 150 minutes of exercise bike! It was a LOT of activity for me, but it felt GREAT. However, this morning my back is hurting. I'm not sure if it's actually the exercise, or if it is because I slept in a weird position. We have two single beds tied together, and I woke up in "the hole" in the middle, twisted all weird.

I haven't done my exercises yet, I feel kinda scared doing them, but at the same time I think they'll be good for me.

Then, weather REALLY sucks today. I am supposed to go walking again with Wife, and do a little shopping for our dinner w/guests tonight, and I am not motivated for cold and rain. I'm considering going to the gym instead, but this still means going outside and getting wet. I WILL do one or the other, though. Guarantee it.

The bike will also get another beating. I am just not sure how long time I will have to run it today. We'll see. I will report back tomorrow.

So, what's the result of all this?

The result is that I reached a NEW LOW today! I am today at 81.6 kgs, and damn proud of it. I still have 1.7 kgs to go until Saturday, so I have to work as hard as possible for it. It's gonna be good, sane foods all the way, a little of my usual low-cal dessert tonight (I might skip this as guests will probably pry my attention away from it), and a few gallons of water.

I will report in tomorrow and let you know how things went.

Today I am thankful
- for ALL buddy participation from you guys! I really enjoy reading your thoughts, and I love reading your journals.
- for Coffee in the morning! This time a delicious tiramitsou (spelling?) flavored coffee. Delish!
- for warm, sunny weather (though it's clearly not here today).
- for great food from Wife tonight. A good, mexican style meal in honor of good friends. It will all be sane, and reasonable for my weight loss journey.
- for such an amazing wife cooking these awesome meals for me.

...and there it is. No topics that will result in hours of reading for all of us! LOL! I'll think of something beefy for tomorrow, maybe... These journals kinda have a mind of their own - you never know what'll happen.

Take care my friends. It's nice to see new readers comment yesterday. It's nice to see how you guys get engaged. I absolutely love it. It's all part of the journey for all of us.

I'll end this journal with a fun, little old pic. This is from my years in the US, Wife took it at a store. Nothing special, nothing weight loss related, just thought it could bring a smile to your faces. See it as a reward for actually reading my whole journal. :)

Congrats on the NEW LOW! Its awesome your working out so much, be careful though. I reckon you could go to starvation mode from your activities. Love the picture, it does look pretty old (you have no grey) lol!

You won't go into starvation mode from over-exercising just may feel like you've overdone it. I actually don't believe in starvation mode but only that if you are very lw calorie for long stretches you may plateau so sometimes a cheat meal oce per week may help.

I have the same problem with the length of my journals. I also enjoy reading yours. Love the pics. Congrats on the new low and all the hard work your putting in working out. Your making me want to get out there and get it done! hmmmmm debating on whether or not to comment on the over training and starvation mode comments.......been a long night, maybe not.:) Maybe theres your thought to ponder for tomorrow.

I appreciate the concern about the heavy duty exercising. I don't think a week of doing this will do any damage like that, though. Besides, I do my Indulgence Diet which includes a day of HIGH RDI, probably around 3500. This takes care of the plateuing, usually. And yes, even when I try to do a short journal, it ends up long. :)

(Bren... it is freezing!!!!!! Woke up to a dusting of snow and strong winds!!) Keld... the hat... it's ... well, it's very yellow and somehow you lose the Black Peanut image. LMAO!!!! I did love seeing that and it was cute, actually! Congrats on the loss of weight and please don't kill yourself exercising every waking minute. You are making me look like a very big slug, just doing a bit on my elliptical. Hee Hee! Seriously, though... I know you have a goal in mind and just be careful. Love all your journals... long and short. ;)

Congratulations on your mega efforts this week, you're doing a great job. I think that comic pic was the inspiration for your daughter's Christmas gift painting - the yellow hat looks very Viking!

only just caught up with your journal.... Visiting in-laws, MIL 90 and FIN 89 - such an age and so sweet.... Just a short reply as i need to catch up with everyone..... LOL... Love the hat - very fetching. Funny how we really miss exercise once we get into it. I soooo miss aqua fit, can't wait for it to start next week, so I can get into a proper exercise routine again. Hope back holds out :-)

wow, you are awesome on the way that you exercise. You must not only look great but feel great that you have accomplished so much. I love the picture. You remind me of an actor that I saw in a movie with the hat and smile, very nice. sorry the name eludes me at this moment. Have a great day.

Awesome hat! Keep it up! I need all the inspiration I can get to get back on the horse... it'll happen, just might take a few jumps to get up there... I've missed reading your journals from being away!

I could have used that hat today (the weather has been horrible lately)...can I borrow it some time (if you still have it)? Congrats on the weightloss...wish I could say that - I'm a bit frustrated lately! I'm glad you exercised a lot today, I'm sure you knew that I wouldn't have time for anything but a walk with the dog so you did my portion as well...Thanks, Keld - it's great to know you're looking out for me ;)
