Am so interested in how this goes for you. Are you taking all the supplements they recommend? I've been thinking about doing a fat fast and came across this plan. What are you planning on eating after day 5? Do you then start over and do 5 more "fat" days?

Rckc - Thanks for your interest. I actually am taking most of the supplements. I had many of them on hand. I bought BCAA. I've been doing Keto for a long time, but this kind of takes it to the max. Fat only. The fat kills hunger, so it's been pretty easy. I'm still recuperating from pneumonia, so any sign of stress and I will bail, but so far so good. I'm planning the carb refeed day for a family gathering on Sunday, so that I can be sociable and eat with everyone; that will be day 7, if I make it that long. I may go on to another week if it's still feeling positive. I don't think my weight loss so far is water weight, because I was already in mild ketosis when I started. Because I'm adapted to digesting fats, I haven't had any of the intestinal distress that is reported on the blogs. I still have 50ish pounds to lose, so I will run with it as long as it feels right (down about 75 so far). Any questions: just ask or send me a PM. I'll post a bit about it as I go. I'm taking in about 750 cal in fat each day.

Also, I can imagine that it's pretty easy to switch in and out of this from a more normal ketogenic Intermmitant Fasting plan, like a 20:4 daily plan with keto coffee in the mornings. Maybe one week on and one week onto the IF.

Thanks for the info. I loved doing a fat fast but was warned that too much/long would jeopardize my muscle from lack of protein. Just wondering if this is an issue?

The protocol includes taking BCAA - branch chain amino acids. This apparently gives you the product of protein to avoid muscle wasting. Whether it works? ....... hard to tell, but the issue is addressed.

Thank you for answer! I have seen BCAA but didn't know what it was. I will have to look into. Good luck and keep us updated!
