LadyinDenim's Journal, 08 July 2016

It's now normal to just hop up out of bed with no stiffness in my joints. Checked my pulse 88 and BP 136/88. Happy about that. I have measured my BP as high as 150/88. My resting pulse rate has been around 110 for the past couple years, so great improvement there.

Last day of the fast! Am boiling up some chicken bones today with salt and vinegar so I have bone broth for tomorrow when I break fast. Tomorrow is my sweet Emmy's sixth birthday and she wants chocolate cake with strawberry ice cream. I am baking her cake today. Will have grandkids handy to lick beaters and such.

In the morning, the family is going to the beach and grilling for lunch, then to the movies in the afternoon and later blowing out candles.

Sunday is a fast day per usual.

The next new moon is August 2nd. Planning a 4 day fast Aug 2 thru 5. Doing a big feast for extended family Aug 6, so will eat and not fast that day.

Lady, I can feel your satisfaction in your words. It's so great to simply feel better and not be a slave to food! So proud of you my friend!

I have to say that fasting breaks the addiction. It's truly a blessing.

I agree about fasting breaks the addiction. It helped me quit smoking too bc I said heck I can go 24hours without food I surely can do that with smoking. And when I want to eat all day long, I say no, don't need too, I count out my 16 hours until I can eat again then try and make sure no snacking after my last meal and do it all again :-)

Happy to hear that you aren't experiencing stiffness in the morning.

I remember waking up with my back so stiff and sore, it was a negotiation with my body to turn to the side, drop my feet and legs over onto the floor, and rise up from a kneeling position slowly. I remember thinking, "I am crippling myself."

Littler Lady, isnt it amazing how NOT eating can improve the way you feel? I found the same thing. Im so close to being a lacto vegitarian now. Lol I threw away my bacon today. Im tired of taking 12 hours to digest 4 strips of bacon. :( so sad. I loves my bacon.

😮Oh, wow, knuckles! Did you ever see that coming? Crazy. Our bodies tell us what they want to be fed if we shut up and listen. And by shutting up, I mean fasting. It's a shortcut to eliminating all the crap that feeds inflammation. How many journals have we read from people saying they feel sick after reintroducing this or that? What I love most about Day 5 is I feel free. I am free from food obsession today. I am just me in my still too fat body. But you know what? I am going to keep going and I will one day be on glorious Day 5 again, but I will be in a fit body 😊

Good job there, Lady! Keep it up! That heart is the most important organ in your body.

it it that easy to make bone broth??
08 Jul 16 by member: 8hunter6
Yup. Chicken bones simmer about six hours. Beef and pork bones simmer 24 hours. I toss in about a tablespoon of sea salt (more if it's a big pot), a splash of Bragg's apple cider vinegar and go to town. You cover the bones with water, bring to a boil and reduce to a slow simmer. I cover it so there is less steam escaping. If I drink it straight, I usually have to add a pinch of salt to make the meat flavor pop. You can chop up a binch of veg and throw it in there if you want to, but it's not necessary.

Coconut oil swishing helped me with joint pain. Google 'oil pulling' for joint pain. It took about two weeks and the pains were gone. Consuming coconut oil also helps. It's kind of amazing stuff! Hope it helps, Lady.
