Sarah1950's Journal, 13 June 2016

Lost 10 lbs in this 12 lb challenge. Not a bad showing for a post menopausal retired lady who is mostly a couch potatoe. I learned how to properly eat avocados, and, that I can accept invitations for woodsie trail walks. Went over 2 miles without bathroom or water breaks. Broke a sweat and felt enlivened at the end. I was rewarded with a cold glass of water. I would have turned away from the winning lottery ticket for the water. This was a fun challenge for me. My grandson said WOW Gramma, it's over all ready, I was going to do it with you. As Geoffrey Chaucer wrote, "Time and tide wait for no man".
Thanks to all my FS buddies. Your encouragement and support are the cornerstone of my success. Sarah

Congratulations, I think 10lbs. is a good show! Those 2 mile trail walks without bathroom breaks are good, but should have some water after a mile of it. Wow didn't you get stomach pains after drink that cold water, cold is good after a sweat from a long distance walk. Cool water yes; cold water no.

If Sarah is anything like me, the reason for the lack of water on the two mile walk is the lack of bathrooms on the two-mile walk.

DMZur, The cold water was in a 4 oz bottle from my brother in law. Never tasted so good. And Trackin64 has the same bladder issues as me. Life after fifty. Lordy, Lordy. Warren, being the same age as you, you seem like a brother to me, can't resist a little taunting/banter now and again. Your friendship is paramount. Thanks all.

I used to avoid sweat, but now my day feels incomplete without some exertion and sweat. It just makes you feel better. Yes, it feels good to be alive!
