Well, a very happy Saturday to our FatSecret community. We seem to be contemplating seeing my wife's family for breakfast in Long Beach, before they are off to Fresno, today. It is interesting to me, that family dynamics never change in life. My wife's sister and her, were always abused by her brothers, one who is incognito, and that really has never changed. Crazy how hard it is to break that cycle... glad she has you in her corner now. And wait a minute... long beach and then fresno? That's kind of opposite directions, and a lot of miles... hope you enjoy driving :)

Yeah, siblings can be worse than school kid strangers - and kids in general can be vile. And while certain manifestations are no longer present, there still is a type of disrespect that some people still impart on loved ones.
My mom brought me a drum set as a kid. I came home one day and found my brother and sister standing in the middle of the base drum - they had busted through the skin...

My other half was bullied by his siblings (he's 3rd of 4) to the extent the neighbours had to stop his little brother beating him up when he was 10-ish. He is a lot smaller than they are and the family joke that he's the Milkman's perpetuates the bullying. We tolerate them for his parents' sake but avoid them whenever we can (luckily none live close). His father's 75th birthday party is going to be fun ... NOT. Especially as we're organising it since his parents live in Spain. What I'm trying to say is you have my sympathy. Hope it goes as well as it can do!
