Day 10 of my Leptin Reset experiment. Finally after 2 months a "new" low on fatsecret. Still looking to see under 200 ... but excited to see 204 this morning.

All is well or relatively so. Hubby BBQed cherokee chicken last night. Had steamed cabbage on the side and then made chicken salad with the leftover chicken (lunch today!). Steak again tonight. Looks like it will be a higher calorie day but I find with this way of eating my body seems to do well with the extra calories so no worries.

I have reports to finish. Tried to get them done yesterday to no avail. I'll see what I can accomplish this morning and if necessary I should have some time after staff meeting this afternoon.

Hubby learned that his start date for plowing snow at night is November 13th ... that is unless it snows sooner. Actually we have snow in the forecast for tonight through the weekend so we'll see what happens. Typically I enjoy winter but was really hoping it would hold off until AFTER Thanksgiving. Looks like that isn't going to happen. Fortunately hubby will have a piece of the weekend off. He'll get home early Saturday morning, about 4 am and not have to return to work until Tuesday afternoon so at least we'll see each other. He is not looking forward to plowing. It has been 2 years since he has driven a plow truck and they have new trucks since then that he has never operated. I'm sure he'll be fine ... he is a good driver and a smart man.

I fear I've not much else to say today. I'm very conscious that I need to get moving on those reports so perhaps that is clogging my brain!! So let's move straight to my grateful list for today.

1. I am grateful for a wood stove that warms our home efficiently.

2. I am grateful for a beautiful fall day yesterday with sunshine, blue skies, and chilly temperatures.

3. I am grateful for buddies who share bits and pieces of their lives here and are always close by to offer me support.

4. I am grateful for beef, chicken, pork and other sources of protein.

5. I am grateful that I enjoy my work, most of the time, and that I have a great team of colleagues to work with (none of whom slurp their coffee!!!!)

And so ... I am kind to myself. I take care of myself. I like myself!!! I love my body!!! I am an expert in my field and people pay me for my expertise. I am organized and efficient. I plan well and follow through with plans. I earn $100,00 a year. I manage our finances responsibly. Our wood shed is full. Our dental needs are met. I am a successful businesswoman and entrepreneur. I am determined. I am responsible. I am patient. I handle strong emotions and conflict calmly. I listen closely to my body's clues for nutrition and eat foods that my body processes efficiently so it can shed fat and excess pounds.

Today something wonderful will happen to me!!! I embrace this day, this opportunity to continue practicing kindness towards myself. I welcome whatever comes my way and will be mindful to see the opportunity rather than the frustrations. High expectations for staff meeting Wednesday, eh??? LOL!!

Have a wonderful day ... be good to yourselves. Where ever you are you indeed are the driver at the wheel. Take hold, breathe in and out, and be kind to yourselves in the process!!!

Congrats on the new low. My body still is holding on to the weight. I am logging in my foods, even the stuff I shouldn't eat. Hoping to figure out what the magic trick will be. I am giving it another month and if no movement after focusing on food and the workouts together, then I am going back to doctor and demand they look into some different things. Even though the workouts feel great, I am still not 100% myself yet so there is still something not quite right. Dr. says its not hormones, etc. I went to a specialist and went through a "free consult". He now recommends about $725 worth of special test and then his time for setting me up on a diet plan $675. They are test for hormones, thyroid antibodies, and such that he says if are off, no matter what foods and exercise, you still want lose. I am going to take his request to my family doctor and ask why they can't look into these issues as well. Family doctor just put me on this diet plan of bars and shakes I buy through their office. I did that for 2 months and no loss, but I wasn't doing the workouts like I am now. Family doctor says once my metabolism kicks in, weight will drop and other issues like energy level and emotional stuff will subside.

JC ... good luck!!! Have you read Dr. Kruse's info about Leptin sensitivity/resistance? You can google it. It is interesting and might apply to you. It is frustrating I know. Just don't give up on yourself ... things are bound to turn around eventually. I think everything is inter-related, nutrition, hormones, emotions ... and I don't know about you but I figure I've messed up my metabolism quite effectively over the years of the crazy things I've done to my body. I'm no expert but when I have time I'll take a look at your food diary and see if anything leaps out at me!! Keep it up!!! You are doing great!!
