Up another pound this week. :( Again I didn't eat any "carbage", but failed on portion control. Had company over the Easter weekend and did tons of cooking, but again no baking or sweet stuff. Just simply ate more than I should have. Doctor's office called this morning, my labs aren't the best. Going in the morning for an ultrasound since my liver function levels are concerning to the doctor. Cholesterol is up and ratios aren't what they were either. Well crud!

I wouldn't worry too much about the 1lb. Sorry to hear that some of your test results weren't as good as you hoped. It's good that we can know what is going on in our bodies these days though, isn't it? Good luck at the doc's.

Don't worry too much about your labs. I had elevated liver enzymes back in June and an US that showed fatty liver and now all is normal (limiting carbs of course)! Just keep going and don't get discouraged. All is not lost!

Just stay the course and don't talk yourself into "what's the point, it's too late". Its not!

Ain't holidays fun??? Amazing how much of our celebrating revolves around food, eh?

Google cholesterol-lowering foods and find some nice healthy surprises but use portion control! Include at least a few mins of intense exercise every day. Working to raise a sweat, helps clean arteries and liver and boosts the metabolism.

Shea's Rule of Thumb: When you know you have lab work scheduled, leave off any pork or beef for 3 days before going in. I can almost guarantee that your cholesterol will be lower if you will do this. Why? because it takes several days for the body to process all the cholesterol it makes (yes, your body is making cholesterol) when you eat meat. That's what it's supposed to do.

I've been doing Keto since last March - lost very well at first (30lbs) then work got very stressful and maintained for 3 months and lately I have fallen off the wagon - too many excuse days (christmas, new years, valentines, travelling for work, easter - you get the idea) and I have gained back 17 of the 30 I had lost - boo! So back at it - eating keto is pretty easy for me - makes me feel a whole lot better (these things I notice immediately) but portion control and getting exercise a big deal when I am under too much stress.
