RubyRedSox's Journal, 27 March 2016

Well, I had set my rdi to 1500 for 2 weeks and lost nothing. I have to allow for a few days a week I spend time with my friend of course. So I did get my Soup Maker, and am eating mostly soups I make and a little fruit but I had to lower my rdi to get anything to budge. And even for the few days I go "off the rails" I managed to lose 5 pounds, mostly water I know. I need to get down to a place I can do some light exercise without enflamming my joints and feet. So I'm ok with the low calories for a while. The soups I'm making are quite filling and I'm having fun experimenting. My before meal blood sugar was 107. All I've had is plain coffee and no meds yet so that's really good.

That really is good! My morning fasts are never that low. Well you are getting the scale to move. Glad you are enjoying your Soup Maker. It's always fun to have a new gadget!

Hey, I started at that years ago and didn't lose either. I'm short and low metabolism. I actually had it checked. It's only 950 sitting up! So, I foynd with lowering my calories and tracking my weight loss, I came up with 1000-1200 a day. I rotate the calories. If I don't work out, I don't lose much. I'm going to focus now on building back muscle with weighs to increase my metabolism. Good luck.

So true. I love a new gadget and am finding it easier to make smaller portions of simple soups. I really love the tomato soup. Very rich and soothing. But I had potatoes on their last legs so made a big pot yesterday. No cooking for me for a while. It does make it simple to count calories and with the cooler wet weather, soup is very welcome.

Lizzy - I've never had my metabolism checked but I know it's quite low and not feeling good enough to exercise doesn't help. But hopefully as the pounds go I'll do better. Good luck to us all!
