I'm feeling quite pleased with the weight that is dropping off so easily, but I also know that this is how it works for me, the first 10 pounds fall right off, but then it gets much harder... and then I lose momentum, confidence and my positive attitude, and I eat my way back up again.

Is it a psychological thing? If thats the case maybe lose ten pounds then start over...change your start weight...then maybe you'll always feel as if your in you first ten pounds. I don't know, maybe a silly idea, maybe not. lol

I think that the first 10 pounds are somehow like surface fat? and the rest of it is way harder to break down? Or else, maybe after 10 pounds of dieting, I'm just so sick of deprivation, that I'm not strong enough. The other problem is that I'm still way, way too heavy, even after losing 10 pounds, so there's not a real tangible difference. It's not a big enough difference that it motivates me, plus, i always think it'll stick, but then i just go and gain it back. Very frustrating. I do, generally, eat a LOT.... i notice it when I'm dieting, because I just eat a whole lot less. Usually, making toast for the kids, I throw in a piece or 2 for me. Making a PB&J? I'll just make a 1/2 one for me... kids having cereal? That sounds good! Kids want cookies? Okay, give me one too... all day, every day... it adds up. So when I'm NOT doing that, the weight falls off pretty fast at first... hoping to continue my momentum this time...

I hear you! Getting started seems easy enough to do but it's once you lose a certain amount, everything seems to stop - or at least slow way down. Hang in there!

I started at 221 and got stuck at 215 forever it seems, got down to 210 and was so happy but my body doesn't want to give up the fat. So back up again. We just have to stay strong when we feel weak. And continue on the journey that we have created for ourselves.
