Hey girl! So happy to "see" you!

It has been a rough few months. The Uterine fibroid embolization I had in July damaged the artery above it. They went in thru the femoral & crushed the iliac artery on close. So I had a blocked artery until November. Or course, they did not figure out what was wrong until mid October. I assure you, a blocked artery is very painful. Stairs were the worst, but I also could not walk slowly for more than 2-3 mins before the pain started. Lots of pain pills and sitting on my butt. In November, I had a total of three surgeries to correct it (almost 20 hours!). I was in the hospital for 4 days. I was in ICU (for 48 hours) and everything. Hubby said I was more tube & wire than woman. LOL He was really good. He did not leave my side unless I was in surgery. I ended up needing major groin surgery and total reconstruction of my iliac artery. It took 7 hours. I ended up with 2 stents & a patch. 1 stent in my femoral, and 1 stent and a patch in my iliac. Recovery took 6 weeks. My stitches opened twice. I might have fallen on the ice for the last one. The doc said this complication was because my arteries are very deep, which is also why it took me so long to heal. In the middle of all this, my MIL got sick the week before Thanksgiving. Weakness in her legs and feeling off. She was not getting better but worse. On December 13, she went to the hospital. It took them 4 weeks to diagnose her w Small cell lung cancer, presenting as Cushing's disease. The Cushing's affect your adrenal glands, messing with all your hormones (ie. crazy sugar levels, very high & then very low blood pressure, ACTH levels, weakness in extremities, swelling). She could not walk, just stuck in a hospital bed for weeks on end. They said she has 8-12 months to live. The started chemo the next day. She died in two weeks. It has been very hard for the family. My SIL, who is narcissistic in the first place, got even crazier. The poor woman spent the last 6 weeks of her life stuck in a hospital bed. She just kept failing as they helped her hormones w meds. She asked us to take her cat, so now E and I have a crazy biting cat. We did not want pets again after Conan. Never say never, right? So, Monday was the first time I exercised since July. I have not watched what I have eaten at all. I will get back. My leg is so inflexible and weak. Must rebuild! I have checked in occasionally and stalked but I just was not up to posting. I hope the last 7 months have been better for everyone else! I am starting to smile again. I will be my cheery self very soon! Life goes on, everyday is precious, love people who are good to you, & be good to the people you love. Throw in a few more cliches just for fun. I have most likely thought them. LOL

Silver lining: I found out my arteries are extremely healthy. Not something you usually get to find out....
