Hermiones Mom's Journal, 16 February 2016

Ok -- on the one hand, I think I'm probably a bit dehydrated today and couldn't possibly have lost 4 pounds this week. On the other hand, I have had the feeling for the past several days that I had lost more weight than the scale admitted to. I guess we won't know for sure until I keep doing what I'm doing and weigh in again next week. Gosh -- I would so like to breeze through the 160s and not get stuck again until I'm in the 150s. I wonder if the addition of ice skating and the gym really made this much difference? I guess we'll know next Tuesday, won't we.....

Ice skating sounds like a great calorie burner. In the mood to visit the local rink myself now.

J_dalbar -- I got the idea from another FS'er. She started journaling about ice skating with her grandchildren, and I just thought to myself: I was an extremely competent skater through high school, actually figure skated. And then other interests of adolescence and college years pulled me away, and I haven't skated in years. I figured now or never. At first it was terrifying, but now I have my "ice legs" back, and I'm actually starting to be able to really skate, which is very cool.

HCB - you are my role model. Hope you will be here with the supportive messages if it turns out next Tuesday that this was just a bunch of water and I'm back up to 167! I'm very suspicious. This never happens to me -- I just bump along at that .75-1 pound rate.

Our bodies are so weird when it comes to losing weight - we never seem to know. I bet skating burns a ton of calories and builds a little muscle, too. I am lucky to lose 1 or 2 pounds a month.
