jmb3450's Journal, 31 January 2016

192.4 lbs. Slow losing but that's ok. I enjoyed celebrating two of my grandson's birthdays yesterday, shared a piece of cheesecake with my wife but still came in under my RDI and 90 net carbs.

Got some hopefully great news...my youngest daughter is engaged. She's had some trouble with boyfriends/fiances in the past and been hurt pretty badly. From what I can see she has a very nice and decent young man this time but they've been dating less than a year. Wedding isn't being planned until September 2017 so that's a good thing, gives more time for the relationship. And some time for me to try and save some money towards it.
192.4 lb Lost so far: 61.6 lb.    Still to go: 2.4 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Great news Jim. Sharing is caring. Went to diner yesterday morning and the wife and I split a meal. I was a little hungry afterwards, but had another cup of coffee which was a lot less calories than a full plate of western omlet, home fries, and English muffin.

Nice... on both the drop and the family news!! As the father of three girls I know how stressful the choices of men in their lives can be. Also, I've found that Home Depot has a great selection of ladders...way cheaper than a wedding...wink, wink.

Thanks Ches, Mom, Steven, Bill and Snow. This will be the last of my daughters for weddings, already been down that path with the other two. But my wife has 3 unmarried daughters. I'm thinking I'll be working till I'm 80 to pay off the weddings!

Ahhh...some modern couples pay for most of their own choices - and parent from both families make contributions...not sure why bride's family shoul;d pay fpr the lion's share anymore. Hope the engagement lasts 18 months, and she can be happy.

I've heard people say that wedding costs are not always on the bride's parents but that's not been the experience for me to this point other than the groom's parents doing rehearsal dinner.

Congrats! I'm sure it's been hard for her to get over the past hurts. At least she didn't become jaded. Best of luck to her. You'll need to keep us posted on the wedding plans.
