Back on here again as I have let things get out of control. Feeling entirely unhappy with myself and ashamed that I let it get this far. Need to do something and Atkins worked for me last time so will start out with it again. My 3 year old daughter is my main concern as I feel constantly tired and lousy and unable to give 100% energy to her. I don't want her to suffer because I can't control my eating. Onwards and upwards, only I can make the change and xxx

You're taking a huge positive step. Sugar, corn syrup, and grains are poison to our bodies. I haven't had a coke in over 2 weeks and feel good about that. It's easier when you have someone else eating the same way in your house.

Bread, pasta, rice and potatoes are my downfall for sure. I'm not really a fan of fizzy drinks thank goodness so those are easy to stay away from. I am a coffee demon however, trying to compensate by drinking the same amount of water for each coffee I drink and today it went fine actually! Need to up my water intake. Feeling determined, thank you for your support x

Feel human, not ashamed. You are human, you can make a plan, you can stick with it, you can recover from slips, and you can make the changes you want to make for yourself and your sweet little girl. Heck, you gave BIRTH and made a person! What's a little diet compared to that?!

Coffee Demon..LOL! I laughed at that...I'm the same way. I always called myself a Java Junkie. =) Try taking some L-Glutamine or L-Carnitine. That's the stuff that will put the kabosh on sugar cravings. I have bottles of both in the vitie cabinet. For a little flavor and variety in the water, try adding a slice of lemon, lime, or cuke to your water. I buy them, slice and freeze, then plop a slice into my water when I want a change. Try making faux rice- by grating cauliflower and steaming it. Slather with butter. =) It works. I boil and mash cauliflower to replace potatoes. Turnips and parsnips work also. I started using leaf lettuce for sandwich rollups instead of tortillas and flatbread. Eating out? JimmyJohns has the "Unwich", and Hardees has the Lo-Carb Burger. Just a few ideas!! Good luck, and be sure to post often. You can do this!!!! =)

kpwcalories, you are so right!! A little diet compared to giving birth...easy peasy!! Have to tell you all, I think he universe is trying to drive away my inner coffee demon as I spilled the same cup of coffee twice at work!! Didn't refill and had one less cup of coffee today and replaced with 2 cups of green tea. Almost caved this evening at dinner, almost reached for a frozen pizza, didn't and stuck to the diet and I feel better for it. Adapt and overcome, veni vidi vici!

Is your little girl proud of her mommy? If not, tell her she should be! Get her to give you some of your daily support. She'll feel good about helping Mommy.
