Big Boy Optimus's Journal, 17 December 2015

I have done it!!! I have officially lost 20kg :D :) WOOOOHOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

Weight on 27 April 2015 : 128.7kg (was over 134kg but dropped weight before recording it)
Weight on 17 December 2015 : 108.7kg (my lowest weight in over 12 years)

It took me 8 months BUT I was not strict and enjoyed my weight loss journey as I never gave up eating carbs, junk food, cakes, chocolates, etc. :) I took breaks for special occasions and gained and lost the weight from such breaks. My journey was sustainable and very enjoyable :) I would have reached 20kg weight loss in much shorter time if I didn't take breaks and was strict with what I ate but that would have required me to be very strict and I would have given up.

My rate of weight loss this week was much lower at only 200g(0.2kg) due to consuming alot of high calorie food last Friday which supposed to be a Fast Day. I also indulged in some beers over the weekend after a very very very long time. I'm really glad that I still managed to lose just what I needed to accomplish my goal :)

I lost my 20kg of weight by using food :) I did it without using any fat burners or supplements except having a protein shake once or twice a week as part of my food intake.

My next step in my journey is to start using supplements. I will be starting my loading stage of creatine monohydrate today so that I'm ready to benefit from it in the new year.

2016 is going to be an awesome year :D :) I am aiming to lose my boep(fat around my tummy) :)

Thank you to every one of you here on FatSecret. I wish you all the best on your weight loss journey :)

Thanks everyone :) You guys and gals rock!!! @Saige18 besides losing weight/fat, my goal is also to build bigger muscles but I wanted to challenge myself and start my journey without using supplements so that my results will be 100% attributed to my chosen weight loss method in regards to how and what I ate. I only went back to the gym after losing my 1st 10kg for the same reason of wanting to achieve weight/fatloss without slogging it out in a gym because previously I had lost some weight but my eating had no control at all so when I stopped gyming, the weight just came back. I told myself that if I can lose weight without gym then I will win this battle and I did just that. I will still continue to lose more weight/fat and supplements can assist in building muscle and that will help in losing fat. Supplements are also a form of food for our bodies but they are just isolated parts of food. For example, we get creatine from eating fish and meat but we need to eat alot of fish and meat to get a healthy dose of it so the better option is to consume creatine monohydrate on its own isolated form to supplement our food intake. There are a tons of different supplements available but I will only only use what I find as suitable for me. I'll continue to update my journal honestly and list any supplement I use so that others can learn as well :) I don't have a goal weight because I want to get bigger on muscle size so I might actually gain weight but that is ok as long as I look good and am healthy :)

Thanks Erikthiart. I'd hate to join a forum and not be available to always reply to any questions or queries. Feel free to post up a link of my journal for anyone to read. If people don't get onto fatsecret, they will not be able to keep track of calories and that is a key aspect to the weight/fat loss.

Expect to see a bit of a gain from the creatine over the next week or so. Do you continue the weight loss, or are you heading into maintenance. I must say, you look like a big boy. How tall are you? I know one thing for sure. I'd let you spot me when I'm powerlifting. You look like you could handle it easily. You're right, too. A slow weight loss is superior in a lot of ways, but then it depends on how much you need to lose. For 20 kg, you did it right. I can just look at the food on my plate and have a pretty good idea of whether I should or shouldn't. Cheers.

NorthernMusician I still have alot of bodyfat despite already losing 20kg so I want to continue u losing bodyfat which shows as weight loss. I do weight training to build my muscles stronger and bigger as well as to burn up my fat stores. I'm about 1.83m tall. Funny thing is that when I weighed myself on Saturday morning after 2 days of 20gram creatine loading, I had lost another 0.7kg since Thursday's official weigh-in. I don't record my unofficial weigh-ins as it's just for my monitoring purposes. I am still expecting a bit of water weight to cause a gain for next week's official weigh in due to the creatine loading but I don't mind since it is festive season as well. I feel that weight will become irrelevant as I progress through my journey since it is possible to lose fat weight and gain muscle weight and the scale won't differentiate that for me.

BBO. I think it's possible to do that in the early stages of lifting. The body is just begging to do something for us. The only machines that break down from lack of work is the human body. Even if it's hard to gain muscle mass during a cut you can still gain a lot of strength. The mass comes in time. I love lifting. It's my favourite thing to do... without my wife. ;)

LOL NorthernMusician. I'm getting addicted to lifting too. I look forward to gym. It just feels good to me and I'm seeing good results in terms of strength and you are right about the muscle size that will come with time :) I read an article about weight training contributing to weight/fat loss due to muscles growing and getting bigger thus requiring more energy so the body breaks down fat faster when weight training is added to the mix. I know some people want weight/fat loss without needing to go to the gym and that is also possible but going to the gym will just make results more consistent and it's good for you :)

Hey buddy long time no speak. Compliments of the season. I love the way you are approaching your transformation. You know exercise is not the be all and the end for weight loss but a lot to be said for. A muscular (or toned) body is always more aesthetically appealing, not to mention how the big muscle groups burn a crap load of calories. Here's to sculpting lovely bodies in 2016. Keep going man, you got this.
