I've been in the same situation many times! I'm wondering how to stop it creeping back on at Christmas (well speeding back on if I'm being honest!)I know I've lost some but I only rely on the dieticians scales at the obesity clinic and as I only go every 6-8 weeks it's a long wait (excuse the pun) I next go on 13 January.

I have decided that Christmas Day, at my step-daughter's, will be no holds barred. But before and after, 1700 cals a day. My wife is working Christmas and New Year, and I will be driving, so at least I won't have drink fueling my appetite!

Well done for sticking to it after last week's disappointment, an excellent result! Your gain last week was almost certainly due to water retention, and it's gone again this week, and a couple of pounds of extra weight with it! You are doing brilliantly well overall. 55 pounds lost in less than eight months? Fabulous!!!

If I manage to lose a pound this week then that is my 4 stone. And hopefully I can be 15 something for Christmas. That would be a grand present. Thank you one and all for your encouragement.

You've done brilliantly well overall!! Don't beat yourself up, you're only human and subject to moments of weakness - it aint easy to maintain weightloss week in week out, but your weight path is downward, take heart from that and you'll make your target. Good luck and enjoy Christmas!!
