How is it that I end up burning the same amount of calories (sometimes more) and reaching my step count faster when I do chores around the house, as compared to when I'm doing an aerobic workout??? I don't sweat as much as when I do the Jillian Michaels' video, but I've been monitoring my steps and calories on my watch, and I'm already ALMOST at 10,000 steps for the day? And yet, I feel like I haven't done anything. I think I may have gotten a 10-15 minute workout in, but that's it. :(

I'm no expert, but intensity counts for quite a bit as well IMO. Your count might be lower during aerobics, yet you're working more on your fitness and and your body (burning fat, building muscle) than when you're just taking steps. 10,000 steps while walking slowly is not equal to 10,000 aerobic moves in place!
