Wish I could feign surprise and frustration (insert drama queen quote here) -- far too much slacking off of late and the Idiot Box cuts you NO slack when that occurs . . . garbage IN, sh$tty scale readOUT . . . no pity party here. Totally own it -- been 'coasting' of late and not really following/sticking to food plan. Part of it was 'emotionally-triggered' eating on two occasions last week -- first time I've even had an emotional trigger to overeat and/or eat carbage since beginning this journey back in mid-June. Still need to figure out a healthy workaround next time that occurs. BUT, in the meantime, slacking ended yesterday . . . worked out today with a personal trainer @ a gym I just enrolled in. Fully prepared to kick my own a$$ and get my butt in gear (and in shape)!

Forgot one thing -- as part of my new commitment to accountability, here are my measurements and BF%, taken today at the gym:

Shoulders: 40.5"
Chest: 34.5"
Waist: 33.5"
Hips: 38"
Bicep (relaxed): 10.5"
Bicep (flexed): 11"
Thigh: 18"
Calf: 15.5"
Body Fat %: 23.3%

As an FS Buddy says, "ONWARD!"
154.8 lb Lost so far: 42.2 lb.    Still to go: 27.8 lb.    Diet followed poorly.

I doubt your personal trainer will cut you slack, so I think you've turned it around.

Gym will be fun for a change. I'm sure you'll still want to do your outdoor runs when possible, and Jake still needs walking. You will soon be losinit like the clappers!

Proud of you for your realness & honesty. Man I wish I had your measurements...it's obvious that last week was take a break week and just not everybody got the memo like we did :D

Thanks, Buddies! I need only think of you guys next time I start to enter 'slack mode' to stay the course . . . new/modified goals are to drop ~15-20 more pounds, a few more inches here and there (basically tone and tighten) and reduce BF % to ~18%. Y'all have a great week!

I've been in slack mode too and just can't seem to get out! I'm glad you're finding your way back to kicking your own butt and getting back on track. I'm going to try to do the same! :)

@Scalewatcher--If I find/figure out something that works, I'll be sure to share! Thanks, @Draglist! I was tempted to avoid the weigh-in altogether but feel better about facing it head on and I'm certain that limited any further 'damage.' @Mars--I was where you are for about the last 10 days or so, only I didn't have the flu as a good excuse for getting off track! I know you can get back on it, too, even though it seems overwhelming at the moment -- I'll add more on your own journal post or Challenge forum.
