Fledgist's Journal, 03 September 2011

Down by over a pound! I checked it twice to be sure. This kind of drop is generally followed by a week of no change. I'm beginning to look at the final phase of getting my weight down.

Yesterday, a person who hadn't seen me in two years said 'You look fabulous!' I don't think I've suddenly become Billy Chrystal's Fernando, but I certainly look very different from the way I did two years ago. Another, who hadn't seen me for a year, said 'You've lost a lot of weight!'

I'm not where I want to be yet, and I don't want to stumble at the last hurdle, but as the philosopher Diogenes said 'I can see land'.
192.6 lb Lost so far: 144.4 lb.    Still to go: 24.6 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Yvonne, that's an excellent way of putting it. I don't see myself as an inspiration. I'm doing my best, that's all. Bren, it is. I keep having to remind myself that I haven't got there yet. Not to mention that getting to my goal means beginning the harder part: keeping the process going. Thanks everyone. I couldn't do this without support, both at home and from you wonderful folks.
