Scales are so strange. The first time I stepped on the scale this morning it said 204.6 ... then immediately afterwards (because I just couldn't believe what it said) I stepped on it again and it read 205.6. I decided to record the 205.6 (which I still have a hard time believing but what the heck!!)

So ... perhaps it is true ... my body needed more calories. I've also been trying to balance fat/carbs/protein ... perhaps that has made a difference. Or is it the exercise routine? Who knows. But it is very nice to see a shift in a downward direction ... now to keep it going.

My husband loves sausage but we he wants to eliminate pork. He has NEVER liked any of the substitutes. But I found something called Isernio's Chicken Sausagein the market recently and decided to try it. Wow!! It is the tastiest non-pork sausage I've ever had. Even DH liked it!! Of course it is more expensive than pork sausage but still ... so nice to find something we both will eat.

I made a 3 egg omelet this morning which we shared. It is the first morning I have cooked all week. We've been drinking smoothies during the work week. Nice to have a hot breakfast with a fresh cup of coffee this morning, although I've really been enjoying the smoothies!!

Another weekend of warm weather ... which won't last long I suppose with September right around the corner!! I don't mind the warm days but I have a hard time sleeping at night when it doesn't cool off enough. Last night was no exception ... hopeful for undisturbed sleep and it didn't quite work out.

Woke up at 3:30 this morning with a headache so ... I wandered downstairs (in the dark of course) to take something. If you are eating ... please stop reading!!!

Stepped smack into a pile of doggy doo ... YUCK!!! So I stepped with my toes (ewww!!!) and decided to walk on my heel to the bathroom to clean it off. SPLAT!!! Into another pile I couldn't see. So now, half asleep I hop to the bathroom so I don't track it further on the carpet. What a mess and disgusting!! Poor Blue has been sort of "off" lately, must have eaten something he shouldn't have out in the woods.

Speaking of Blue ... last night when we were outside with him something spooked him and he decided to jump directly up onto the porch instead of up the stairs. He didn't quite make it!! So here is my 100+ lb Doberman hanging on the edge of the porch with the front half of his body on the porch and the back half hanging precariously off the porch!! Quick like a bunny I scrambled down the stairs to lift him up. I don't think he hurt himself (other than his pride) but he was like glue next to me for the rest of the evening.

Today is laundry, little of this and that ... tasks I am always too tired for during the week ... and hopefully staying on track with my eating and exercise. Finally I see some movement ... now I'm scared to death I'll jinx it!!

We watched a ridiculous movie last night ... Due Date. Had some good laughs ... hubby's comment (I would have killed him before we were 50 miles from the airport!!!). It was mindless entertainment ... probably good for a Friday evening.

Today I will get several things accomplished. I will continue to practice kindness towards myself. I will remain on track with my eating, respecting the apparent truth that I need to eat more than I thought I did and believing that I can get back down to 180 something ... if I keep at it, respect my hunger, and believe in myself.

I am grateful this morning ...

1. DH appears to feel a little better ... the kidney stone pains have passed and he is more talkative than he has been all week.

2. I only have 2 loads of laundry to do today and one of them is already in the dryer!!!

3. I had some Spot Shot in the cupboard ... assisting me with my icky clean-up duties this morning.

4. I was able to ALMOST catch up my paperwork yesterday at the office before I headed out the door for my last visit and then home.

5. The books I ordered that chattycathy recommended (via her soon to be husband) arrived yesterday!!! Maximum Achievement by Brian Tracy

Morning! I think you're absolutely right, it is happening because you cycle your calories, you pay attention to your macro-nutrients, you exercise... There is no other option than losing weight! I've been trying smoothies, I like them but I find myself hungry shortly after drinking them. Even with protein etc... So I gave up. But they are so convenient on busy mornings! I'm glad you and Bob enjoyed them this week. Wow, that is not a very nice way to spend the night, sorry to hear your dog has digestive issues. Hope he's feeling better now. A friend of mine has a Cane Corso (european breed) and lately the dog found a new passion for wood sticks, or tree branches or whatever wood he can find. The result is the same than for Blue... his digestive track doesn't do well on wood! Oops, my comment is terribly long, sorry! Have a great weekend, try to relax and enjoy those last days of summer!

I love those isnero's sausage. it comes in an italian flovor too. Your morning was truly yucky...I am amazed about your wonderful mood. So happy about the scale- gotta take those good days when we get them!! have a great saturday

Sharon I'm going to have to look around my little town and see who carries those sausages ... the one store I found it in only had the breakfast sausage. I would love to try their other flavors ... I love sausage but don't love the fat calories it contains. The Italian flavor would be awesome in my zucchini dish, or pasta sauce ...

Zig-zagging calories works for me. I have a hard time trusting that eating more can result in a loss-it so counter intuitive but I find that it does. SO my "cheat" days are now guilt free. Congratulations on the loss! Poor doggy-my beast is an emotional wreck. He takes an anti-depressant and it helps with the anxiety. Funny but true, lol!

Blue is a little better today ... still cautious about going down the stairs. I wonder if he didn't get stung by one of the many yellow-jackets we have this year!!
