So wish I had learned about this whole dairy pitfall for PCOS a long time ago. Day six no dairy. Down 5 lbs. I allow myself 2 tablespoons of butter per day (used for bullet proof coffee or to cook with). I have cut out all cheeses and cream for this week. Feeling less bloated and the drop in the scale speaks for itself. I am not going to give up dairy permanently, but you can bet I am gonna be a whole lot more restrictive in frequency and amount, going forward. I am even going to try to learn to drink my coffee black <<<gasp>>>. Currently I am using unsweetened almond milk in my coffee.

I would take a supplement or find other foods to get your vitamin D and calcium. So important for bones and aging.

I still eat greek yogurt because I personally find the probiotics really beneficial - but I hear you on the dairy. I don't eat any other dairy than my serving of Fage in the AM (sometimes just a tablespoon mixed with salsa over eggs). I think it really does make a big difference! (I also have PCOS on top of other B.S.)

I do not think the butter will bother you that much - I use almond milk, too. I bet it was the cream and possibly cheese that may have bothered you.

Wish you had as well....all the struggling when your body was screaming that it didn't want a certain product! Black coffee isn't bad....it just an acquired taste. So thrilled to see your scale moving rapidly in the downward direction. YAY!

If you clarify butter you can use the "ghee" for cooking and just keep the regular butter for BPC. The clarifying removes the milk solids and keeps just the fat part of it.

@darlene thanks for that tip. I've wondered how ghee is made!

@fit, girl, that egg idea sounds fabulous! Thanks for sharing your tip. It's helpful knowing that you have PCOS too. I take lots of probiotics and certainly agree with their importance.

@Suzie,that is a great reminder! I do take supplements but i certainly should up my calcium especially in light of my reduced dairy intake, which commenced this week.I appreciate you chiming in!
