Crap! gained .2 pounds. I made it a point to drink at least 64 ounces of water the last couple of days which I rarely do so do you think this has something to do with the gain?

I read that after a few days my body will get used to it and the weight will normalize so to speak but I guess I will find out.

How much water do you drink a day?

HAPPY HUMP DAY!!

Great question, Madanjen, I just saw a girl on YT who lost 129 lbs so far. She's drinking 1 gal. of water daily. It really made me think my water intake needs to be MUCH more than it currently is. It's totally random right now. Perhaps I could dial in with a mini-goal increasing it every day. It's so important!

I think water does have something to do with that slight gain. The water will flush out. No worries, .2 isn't enough to fret about :)

Here is what I found! I met a guy in the gym, and he gave me this calculation. I hope this helps? G.B.~Ann :) There are many different methods for calculating daily fluid requirements. However, a simple equation to help adults figure their fluid needs is that for every pound of body weight, you need about half an ounce of fluid intake per day. For instance, if you weigh 140 lbs., simply multiply 140 by .5 to estimate your daily fluid needs in ounces, then divide by eight to estimate your fluid needs in cups per day, rounding up to the nearest full cup. [example: 140 x .5 = 70 ounces; 70 ounces divided by 8 = 9 cups of fluid per day] 0.5 ounces x Body Weight in Pounds = Daily Fluid Requirement in ounces

I drink 5 liters per day, counting tea too. I don't force myself, I just love water. It will all get flushed out.

Thanks for the tips. I lost .4 pounds this morning so it appears that my body has done it's job. Ann444, based on this calculation, I am supposed to drink over 100 ounces. Holy Sh......!! with the 64 oz., I am going to the bathroom every 30 seconds! Lol. With over 100, I would have to stay in the bathroom. But seriously, I appreciate the comments and am sure this running to the bathroom often will change as well.

Be careful drinking all that water! If you consume water faster than Your kidneys can get rid of the excess you can mess up your electrolytes, which could cause heart arrythmias. I only drink water and coffee, and I drink as much as I feel like I need (of water lol). Your body knows what to do :) Keep up the good work buddy, you're an inspiration!

The color of your pee is a great indicator if you are drinking too much, or too little. Light straw colored pee is better, dark pee bad so drink more. You can google this topic. Seldom does a person drink too much water, but it has been done with super bad effects on the body. A good rule of thumb, 8 to 16 oz in the morning, at least 8 oz before and after each meal and 8 oz before bed. If you get up during the night, drink your last glass a couple of hours before going to bed. That way you know you have at least the 64 oz to 80 oz in your system without counting. Of course, if you are exercising a lot or in a hot area you might want to up your intake or spread it out differently. I like teas and coffee. That water counts too, as does the water in foods.
