I must be a water retaining machine. How else do you "lose" 3.4 lbs overnight? LOL!!! Whatever, as my former teens used to say to me. The nip is most definitely here. Dipped down to the high 20's last night. The flannel sheets, heavy blankets, and fire in the wood stove are all feeling very good. It is nice that it is getting chilly before our trip to Mexico ... I always enjoy the contrast in the climate.

Today I am grateful for ...

my elliptical machine ... it gets me going every morning!
my big goofy doberman curled up at my feet on the bed
my mother ... I don't know how she puts up with me!!
pirate's booty ... what a tasty snack!!
another day to celebrate life!!

Enjoy your day ... let's practice kindness to ourselves and stay focused on our healthy paths. Yesterday is gone, tomorrow is still uncertain ... TODAY!!! I will focus on today.

A puffed corn and rice, cheese flavored snack, low in fat, 130 calories for one ounce!!! I found it at Safeway. Kind of like cheese corn!!! Very tasty!!!

Moose, How dare you!! You joined my 2# PER WEEK challenge; PURPOSELY RETAINED WATER; then immediately dropped more than 2#s in ONLY ONE DAY!!??? How crafty. Well, I'll show you....I personally just lowered YOUR goal to 175#!! (Ha! So there!) P.S. Everyone, Trader Joe's also has Pirate's Booty - my girl discovered it when she was about 5 years old, and boy did she love it! (She never acquired my taste for the fattening, heavy stuff, thank god.) It tastes good and is sin-less.

P.S. MOOSE: I'm also quite envious about your crisp fall weather and the fact that you get to sleep on flannel sheets (which I much prefer to silk). If I slept on flannel sheets here in San Diego, I'd awaken in the middle of the night with the sweats and have to rip them off the bed. Now that you have the flannel sheets and the firewood all set, wanna house-trade for the winter??

doit2it ... can you hear me chuckling from up here???? I'll let you in on a little secret ... I would most like my goal to be 170!!! However, since I've yet to even see 175 I have my goal PSYCHOLOGICALLY set at 180 for now. The cool thing about goals is they can wax and wane with whatever it is we need them to do to keep up motivated and feeling okay!! Seriously ... with the wonderful "hot flashes" I have, I still find myself kicking off the covers sometimes in the middle of the night, even when it is chilly in the house. I could probably use a couple of weeks of San Diego weather come January or February!! You crack me up!!

Yup, water retention for SURE! 3.4 lbs.?! WOO HOO! I'll take that any day whether it's water or not! Haven't had weather quite as cool as you yet, but it's coming. Never heard of pirate's booty either. Going to have to check that out. Hope you're having a good day! :-)

Looks like there will be a run on Pirate's Booty all over the world! Look what you started, m.a.moose! I can just picture the cozyness of the flannel sheets, heavy blankets and the smell of the wood fire. nice.

I agree with Rocking Pirates booty. YUMMY. Enjoy the snow if you can. Celebrate each day and find something positive about it. :)... key words: "if you can".
