Divided By Zero's Journal, 05 October 2009

The downward trend continues... and I still don't know why. I'm not going to question it as long as it keeps working.

My roommates moved out and now I'm in a haunted house all by myself. True story. It IS kind of awesome, though. I've never lived alone before. I've spent every free hour cleaning since they left... and I'm still not done. Damn you OCD! At least the place doesn't smell like wet dog anymore.

And... I'm thinking about finally getting all tatted up. Also true story. I've wanted tattoos for a long time, but I refused to get any until I had lost most of my weight (because I was afraid if I did lose weight it would warp). Specifically, I've been jealous of these...

If I did something similar it would be without the 26.2 text. I've been talking to people about it, and have basically said that if I can get through my first marathon without dying then I will seriously be considering this.

Any thoughts, observations, opinions or rambling diatribes about such things would be greatly appreciated.

I personally am against tatoos because I have seen some OLD tatoos and they are NASTY! (shrunken, unrecognizable, lines stretched and misshapen). Totally up to you of course, but my daughter got tatoos and then spent about 2 years getting rid of them, scars and all. So, I could see something on your feet if you are really going to get a tatoo, but someplace that isn't going to change too much as you get older. Just a thought.

I'm not a tat fan, for me, but I think those look pretty cool. I think you should go with something that is kind of mysterious, if you decide to get one.

That's cool, I like it!!! What is it exactly? oh, get use to a thousand and one ppl asking you on a daily basis what it is. I have 3, one visible and I'm quite annoyed by that question. but stupid me for getting something that didnt make sense to ppl where everyone can see it and wonder! lol, I love them and there are really great artist out there to avoid Abbadabbas prob, just do your research. And keep it clean, thats my advice. ;) Yes, you will survive the session, its not that painful, or ppl wouldn't go back for more lol

My suggestions for tats: Make sure you LOVE it. Like, really love it. It has to be a part of you. I got mine a couple years ago and could not be happier with it! It's an excerpt of one of my solos from a No Restraints album, with 3 stars over it. I made sure it was all symbolic, down to the colors. I would also suggest getting a place that isn't skanky to show off and can be covered with work attire(ankles work, mine is on my upper back). I hate lower back tattoos. Tramp stamps. Lol. I like mine because when I'm old and wrinkly I can just cover it up with almost all clothing, and I don't have to see it on a daily basis so I'll probably just forget I have it. Haha.

And I'm assuming the tats you posted are Hermes-based? Winged feet... since you're a runner... hehe. I like it!

You answered Cindy before I could. Yup, Hermes/Mercury based (and on the ankles) because of my crazy running addiction.

I think it fits you.

And it doesn't hurt that crimson/black & crimson/gold are my favorite color combos.

Yay for the downward trend on the scale! I like the tattoo design. That's a good one for you!

Tattoos are far too permanent for my taste...and quite frankly, I do not find the quality of tattoo art to be all that great, in general. Maybe it's because the skin simply does not make the best canvas. Having said that, I must tell you I like the design! The colors are nice, too. Could you use blue in the wings? Of course, I'd suggest it be smaller and less conspicuous - maybe placed between the ankle bone and your achilles heel. But then, if you love tattoos, you probably wouldn't like that idea. Whatever you decide, enjoy it....forever.

Oh, think about this too...maybe the design would look good reversed...to create the sense of wind moving from front to back, as you run and kick up your heels, flying through the air??

I knew it had to do w/ running... just not too sure where it came from. By the way, congrats on the scale, you are doing wonderful!!

I love those tattoos! Good job getting them after you lose weight. I am making myself hold out for a second one until I get back to my goal weight. I really like the wings on the ankle thing. So cool, and easy to cover up. :)

I think those tattoos suit you wonderfully. And I will just echo some of the other comments...make sure you really love it. I heard you should think about a tattoo for a few months before you commit to getting it. If you still feel as passionate about it in three months, then by all means, get it. That's a cool design, with or without the 26.2 text. Great job on the scale. Tell me what you're eating! LOL.

Sign me up for the Super Happy Funtime diet! ; ) Oh speaking of roommates (from the journal), I wish mine would move out. :-\

Wake them up at 3AM every morning with loud shrieks of terror and demand they read you bedtime stories. Throw a tantrum if they don't. Do this as long as necessary to make them run for the hills. Or just say "GTFO!" and be done with it. LOL

WOw! Are you on the supermodel diet-have you left out the barfing part? I had pizza for lunch so let's see what the scale says later this week. Whoohoo!

Oh my gosh I wish that would work. And I wish I could say "GTFO" but we're on a contract until the end of the year and Jimmy and I can't afford the place by ourselves. Three more months...just three more months.
